The Champions are coming

Burnley arrive tomorrow already promoted to the premier league. Champions of the league will be confirmed very shortly.

Burnley have the meanest defence in the league letting in only thirty goals. Only Middlesbrough have scored more goals (that is only one more). Anything from this game would be a big bonus.

Kompany made six changes for the draw at Reading on Saturday. They also had star loan player Tella injured on fifteen minutes. He is very doubtful for tomorrow. They rested Rodriguez, Muric and Barnes but all three could be back against us as could Benson.Scott Twine was involved Saturday but i think it is fair to say he has not been the success they expected. Cue a hat trick tomorrow. Many felt Burnley turned in a tepid performance on Saturday with only one shot on target.

Which millers team will turn up tomorrow? If we play like we did against Luton it will end in tears. However, if we can get the high press going and get into their faces who knows. I think we have to go back to a back four with  Coventry sat in front of them. Get Lindsay and Rathbone in central of a four with Quina and Ogbene wide. Hugill up top. Not sure who to play in the back four. It might be who is the fittest. I will go for a 0-3 defeat but as said before you never know.

I must keep tipping us to get beat as we seem to play better when i do.

No doubt about it we were second best for most of the game. However, our lads had a go last night and it was miles better than the effort produced last Saturday. Burnley like to get on the ball and move it around. i really liked how they always seemed to have players in wide positions available to receive the ball. We could have gone in a couple down at half time but got a shot in the arm with a goal on half time. I think that lifted the players and the crowd and set up for a much better second half performance.

Two injuries(Will they ever stop) to Hugill and Vickers meant a first start for Hemfrey and Kelly getting a half to show his worth. Burnley had a lot of the ball but we looked to have kept them out with good defending and some good stops from the young keeper. They then score a brilliant individual goal around eighty minutes and all seemed to be lost. Five minutes later Chieo gets round the back of their defence, Kelly finds space and fires in the equaliser.

Some good performances from us last night. Top of the list for me was Bramhall, quick, strong in the tackle and getting forward well. Lindsay put in a shift and got in their faces. Chieo had a good second half. Wood and Humphreys did well under constant pressure. Quina has a great first touch and offers something different. Hugill looked to struggle but apparently got injured around the twenty minute mark. Kelly does what Kelly does. Looks a bit like Bambi on ice but has the knack of finding space in the box and scoring. i think he deserves to start on Saturday. Special mention to the young keeper. a great first start young man

On to Bristol on Saturday. Will we get anything? Of course not. Another 3-0 defeat for me !!!!!

Don't be so flippant Whiston, remember we blow hot and cold, and yesterday was a hot one...... so it could well be 3-0!!! Seriously, though, I really hope we stay up, performances like last night deserve reward, and the team has produced a fair share of them this season. Let's face it, we are the poor relation when it comes to championship budgets, so we will never be able to control a game by passing through and round the opposition, although we manage it for parts of a game. No, our results come from hard graft and enthusiasm, and occasionally good luck. Yesterday we were outclassed, Burnley were much better skilfully, and given the money they have been able to spend, you would expect that. However, we kept ourselves in the game, managed to equalise twice and prevented Burnley from settling, and relaxing into making their skills tell. Keep it going lads, you all played your part last night, and we appreciate it.
