Just been announced on a 3.5 year deal.

Never been a massive goal scorer but i think its the exact type of signing we need. Always been trusted at this level in good teams.

Fair play to the club for pulling it off as if he had gone elsewhere we would have all been wondering why we wasn't in for him.

Hugills goalscoring record is a bit better than it first looks. At some of the clubs he has been at he has been a regular sub (behind some very good players in the pecking order at places like West Ham and Norwich). So his goals to games ratio looks ordinary but it's a slight misleading stat. Example- on paper this season he has 0 goals in 8 appearances. When you consider however that he has played 68 minutes total that is neither alarming nor surprising. I suspect that when he is fit and starting regularly as the main man he has goals in him at this level. In any case he is an excellent hold up and link up player which is something we are desperate for. He is mobile enough to operate as a lone striker with the likes of Ogbene and Fosu playing wide of him or as a partner for the likes of Washington or Ogbene to play off. Added to the signings of Morrison, Hjelde and Fosu we are doing some good business. For me getting Hall back fit will be a big boost too. The rumour is that we might be getting Conor Coventry on loan from West Ham which I think would be another terrific signing either as an extra body or as a short term replacement for Barlaser if he moves on now. Anyway, we appear to be having a real go which is all we as fans can ask for.
