Don't know whether any of you guys know about the podcasts on BBC Sounds which follow The Millers and Oxford United's managers, Warne and Robinson, through the latter parts of last season. Both managers are fitted with microphones and a warning about the language is issued to would be listeners. Both managers talk about their reluctance to became managers. They talk of the amount of stress they have to deal with, player motivation and their feelings about receiving abuse from fans when things go belly up. The podcasts cover the 0-0 against Shrewsbury, the Wembley win against Sutton. I found it quite enlightening giving a personal insight in the pressures and stresses Warne and Robinson live with and the rewards, if any, they enjoy. I came away with nothing but respect for both managers who live with all that but always with the fears of being sacked at anytime to bring us the game we all love. I thoroughly enjoyed listening and recommend it, I'd be surprised if it changes your perception of Warney and may perhaps make some think twice about sticking the boot in when a game doesn't go our way.
