Yes, there is talk of bids in for Wiles and Dan. I think it would be a big loss and not help our chances next season. A big mistake if it happens even if the money is good.
Other Wimbledon player is Jack Rudoni who I think a couple of bigger clubs had £1 million bids turned down so not sure why we’d think he’d come here? Think it depended on Wiles going to Burnley but they now signed 3 midfielders so not sure if that will happen now? Who knows
The Hartigan one is more likely as he’s out of contract Rudoni isn’t
Football is a strange business though and a quick look around the leagues on social media shows a fair few in panic mode over lack of incomings. You would think both players and clubs would want to get settled in as early as possible to a new club.
This Grant Hall signing smacks a bit of desperation. Injury problems, hair replacement adverts, celebrity girlfriend a la Angus etc. Doesn't seem a Warne type but i'll not judge him til i've seen him play. That's all that matters.
Rumours abound we have signed Grant Hall on a season long loan from Middlesbrough with a view for a permanent move. I haven't seen anything official yet, but it appears the deal has been done.
The Grant Hall deal was subject to a medical and we couldnt announce it until that was confirmed. I went to Crewe today. Hall looked a bit rusty and he will need to work on his fitness but you can see what he brings. He reads the game well and communicates. I would say that a fit Grant Hall is a good player for us. In fact I dont think we are far away from having a competitive squad of players. Kelly did well again but Eaves will improve us. In Bramhall and Ogbene we have two pacey wide men to add if needed. I like the look of McCart at left centre back. In my humble opinion we need at least one more option in midfield to take the load off Barlaser, Wiles, Rathbone and Lindsay. We asked a lot of them last season. And we are still very obviously light up front. I think even a for Ksyode isnt a Championship player yet (not that he couldnt be one day) and Kelly is still a bit raw. Eaves and Washington are the obvious front two but they need backup and competition. Unfortunately we are finding that out all too soon with the Eaves injury before he has kicked a ball. But we do have the makings of a decent side.
