We will enter tonight's match off the back of a 1-0 defeat to Fleetwood Town last Saturday, while Lincoln suffered a 1-0 home loss to Cambridge United on the same afternoon. The latter are playing well at the moment.
We've lost three of our last five matches in all competitions, though, including our last two, going out of the FA Cup on penalties to Queens Park Rangers on January 8 before suffering a 1-0 defeat at Fleetwood in the league on Saturday afternoon.
We've only won one of our last three League One matches, meanwhile, having also lost at Accrington Stanley on Boxing Day, but we have back-to-back home fixtures against Lincoln and Cheltenham Town before ending January away to Crewe Alexandra.
We've the best defensive record in League One this season with just 18 conceded, while we are the third-highest goal scorers with 45, and it would be a huge surprise not to see us in and around the top two heading into the final straight.
In short we need to get back to winning ways and string a few wins together. Maybe easier said than done perhaps. Has our confidence taken a hit? Let's wait and see.
Match off due to a frozen section of the pitch despite the relatively warm weather we've had today. Ref made the call. What with Covid, weather, players on international duty and injuries all now contributing to match cancellations, it makes you wonder what happened to the beautiful game we used to have when fans would turn up early to shovel the snow off the Millmoor pitch to allow the game to go ahead. Too many snowflakes around today ('scuse he pun!).
