If you have read the Yorkshire Post with warne (see below) it is so depressing and so annoying, he sounds like he is giving up already and is just existing day to day.
************************* Yorkshire post ********************
A false Covid-19 alarm over Freddie Ladapo underlined how thin Rotherham United’s striking resources are, and with manager Paul Warne starting to sound less optimistic about signing another forward before August 31, he may have to make his own.
Ladapo was ill last week and although tests showed it was not coronavirus and he managed 18 minutes in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Wigan Athletic, he is a doubt for tonight’s League One match at Morecambe. Michael Smith and Josh Kayode are the alternatives.
“I’m just not so sure if we’re going to get any more in,” said Warne.
“We might be on the edge of one in, one out and it’s not really one I want to let out.”
It has left him pondering Plan Bs without time to work on them.
“We could just play with Ollie (Rathbone) or Wilesey (Ben Wiles) off a striker but I do quite like two up when I can,” he said.
“I’ve considered Cheo (winger Chiedozie Ogbene) a few times but we can’t coach him today and suddenly he’s a really good No 9.
“Last time in League One we started the season with (Jamie) Proctor, (Kyle) Vassell, Smudge (Smith), Freddie Ladapo and Carlton Morris, none of them young pros, so to go from that to two seniors plus JJ (Kayode), there is a need for another No 9.
“Yesterday my work was to prepare them for this game, and Thursday’s is predominantly for Saturday so games get in the way.
“Cheo can play in any position if truth be told. If the worst comes to the worst, could you play Icky (Michael Ihiekwe) up top? But I don’t want to get into Cheo’s head and teach him to be a targetman or play off the shoulder when I want him to be unbelievable on the right wing against Morecambe.”
Saturday’s was a performance which pleased Warne, and a stoppage-time defeat he is determined not to dwell on.
1. Looks like no striker coming in, absolutely madness and is so defeatist
2. No mention of playing Sadlier off Smudge, every other bloody player but Sadlier, this is terrible he is short of players, he has a player that can score goals, naturally plays at no10 and has done it at this level before and he has given up on him, WARNE do your job manage the players, you cannot give up on a player that you haven't even given a fair chance, as soon as it is hard to manage a player he turns his back and kicks them out, I have manged 100's of people in my career and some people need you to commit and work hard with them to get the best from them.
3. games get in the way, unbelievable we have a full time team of recruiters, what the F are they doing if Warne has to do their job or is it just another excuse.
4. he now has to think of a plan B, so this means that we haven't done this before, we haven't trained with different formations, we haven't used pre-season to try things out and look at alternatives.
This is an interview of a man on the edge struggling to do his job, it lacks positivity and any qualities of leadership, he ends it with a section i had to cut because he was doing the so many people have lost their lives bull**** excuse, using the pandemic to try and deflect the fans away from his awful interview. It is things like this that wind me up about Warne, he doesn't come across as a leader at all, he sounds weak and pathetic, let us hope that this is just the journalist twisting his words.

Sorry I missed an important line out when I cut and pasted the article, it wasn't editing it was a genuine mistake I have put it in now., I know I will get some abuse for this post, but it just annoys me and for me it is part of the reason why I feel something isn't right at the club
one, or better two strikers was a minimum requirement (it was so in January let alone now)... we should have had a plan A, B. C. D. E etc....
In my years of watching football, the team that scores the most goals tends to win (sarcasm by the way), so having enough strikers tends to be a basic need, why do we always ****-up transfer windows
