I think you're right about Smith, Glenn. I think his time in the Championship has made him a better player. When we first signed him he was a workmanlike league one centre forward, but he looks a class act now at the same level. My feeling is that if we keep him and he stays fit he is capable of getting a decent goal return this season. I thought Kayode did fine. In fairness so did Sadlier when he came on. Both are options (as is Freddie) depending how we want to play it, but Smith is definitely the main man.

I just hope Smudge's wonder goal doesn't attract too much attention before the transfer window closes!!

Good all-round performance. 1st half pretty even as both teams battled hard.

2nd half we managed to do what we could not do at wigan. We kept the energy going .

Rathbone, Wiles , smudge, and ogbene all good. Good at the back too. Eventual took control and Good value for the win.

Sadlier looked good. He is definitely a decent footballer. Kayode is big and athletic and does help Smith, however I think sadlier made a strong claim and he must he getting nearer a start.

I thought we were better on Saturday than we were tonight even though the results suggest otherwise. You don't always get what you deserve, and better to win one and lose one than get a couple of draws. Funnily enough, Wigan conceded an injury time equaliser tonight. A bit of karma there. Big spending Ipswich have one point from their three games but they still won't be far away at the end. It is really early days - far too early to panic or on the other hand get carried away. The key thing for me at this stage, regardless of the points return, is to get a feel for whether we have the makings of a decent side or not. I believe that we do. Defensively with Viktor, Wes, Ihiekwe, Wood and with Angus hopefully to come back in we are strong which is always a good start. We have some talented midfield players, a bit of pace here and there, and when we click we will cause lots of teams lots of problems. I am not getting even close to giddy, but I am definitely encouraged by what I have seen so far.

Just to clarify I think Kayode has huge potential he does work hard and that is good for the team, time will tell if he is a goal scorer
