All the time in the world for Michael Smith but (1) he isnt and never will be prolific, (2) perhaps we are too tempted to play long to a big man too often and (3) he only has a year left. At upwards of £500k and for a move that is a good move for him, I'd go for it. Wishful thinking, but what about a swap deal featuring Lewis Wing?
We'll not be able to get anywhere near Wing's wages. Suspect Warnock may be after both Crooks and Smith with his first preference being Crooks. The Wiles to Bramall Lane story seems to have re-surfaced.
I could not read the advertiser, but, I presume by the headline that PW is neither coming nor going but, staying.
The headline also mentions the famous 5 : Olusunde crooks, smudge, Robertson , Clarke.
No smoke without fire , and it would come as no surprise that these 5 will almost certainly be leaving...I think, almost certainly.
It didn't take long for PW to decide, so, that suggests to me it was a little bit of journalistic license that had fans scrambling for their swords and shields to defend with or die on. Much ado about nothing.
Anyway, good that its all clear. Now we pray for some jolly good recruitment .
How I wish I had the ways and means to do some wheeling and dealing for my beloved club.

Well we all know the script
we jut couldnt get it over the line, player changed his mind, club changed its mind not the right fit for the team l. Blah blah
I wish CR all the best and believe he was our best defender on his day, alas hes had too many of those off. Crooks, Smudge and Olli will be courting attention from bigger clubs, and money talks so if offers come in they are as good as gone.
There could be more departures TC may be fed up with being side-lined, Tilt and Miller have enjoyed loan spells
I like Robertson a lot but frankly he won't be missed too much because while he has been here he has been absent for such long spells, which is unfortunate.
I like Olosunde too but doubt that he will attract too much interest from bigger clubs. He hasn't nailed down a place in our side even as a wing back, which on the face of it looks like an ideal position for him. He has bags of pace and occasionally looks sensational, but he still has games in which he looks fairly hopeless. That inconsistency is what will prevent him playing consistently at a very good level.
I think it is natural that some fringe players will move on and that we will look to replace them. I would imagine that Clarke, Shaun MacDonald, and Miller would fall into that category.
Smith and Ladapo are players that I would be happy to keep but not necessarily devastated to lose, particularly if we can get a reasonable fee for them.
Crooks is our asset of real value. I fully expect him to move on and would hope that we would get proper money for him.
Vaulks is being touted for a big money move. Hopefully he gets it (good luck to him) and hopefully we have a sell on clause. Any income like that would help bridge any funding gap.
I know some of you will think this is silly but one player I can see getting a good move is Jamie Lindsay. For me,prior to getting injured, was our best player. He can definitely play at Championship level and in a better team could be pushing for Scotland recognitio.
I would very surprised if any of these pull on a rufc shirt in august
Smith, Crookes, Barlaser, Wiles, Lindsey, Robertson, Clarke, Tilt, Olosonde, Ladapo and Ogbene

Yes i know and these players excluding clarke and ogbene know they can play in championship.
Ogbene could do a job
Clarke may leave
Not an ideal.prospect but if the right bid.comes.in expect a sale.
For the record i want them all to be pulling on a ruf c shirt.
But its my opinion this group.will have the sharks circling and hopefully the money it brings in will let us recruit decent replacements
S macdonald thankyou for you service.
