Smiler, it may seem that some of comments are cheap.shots. but yes managers have a group.of.playera they think they can rely on In warne case it mattock wood crookes ikky smith harding. The issue is that from other players trying to get.game time in those postions they only get a chance if they are injured and are then often dropped even of they have played well when the player comes.back.from injury. This is where warne causes his.own issues Hirst has never been given a run of games just the odd start or sub.compared to some so the comments about him rankle.with me.like.im.sure myncomments.about crookes do.with others

Smiler good point about Warnock and his interview and very good point on Freddie, I have spotted that as well he doesnt do the simple stuff of one or two touches pass and turn. I think Derby will scrape two wins my feeling is the Rooney factor with refs and the leagues desire to have them in the Championship rather than us, may see them get 7 points, I know that seems totally irrational based on their current form, so I think our target should be 4 wins from 6 games therefore we have to treat every game as a must win game. Warne himself said we had 10 cup finals we have 4 points from those first 4 cup finals, 6 points from the next will not be enough. For me the interesting thing about tonights game will be the attitude of the team and the level of motivation they demonstrate.

HM, all those players you mention (with the exception of Harding who I think most agree has been one of our best and most consistent performers this season) have been left out by Warne from time to time.  And I mean dropped, not rested.  Ihiekwe was sent out on loan for a season.  Mattock lost his place to Purrington, but Purrington did not do enough to keep it (I know some disagree).  Wood has been left out countless times but his replacements have never been good enough or consistent enough to keep their places.

I don't mind at all if you rate certain players more highly than Warne apparently does. We all see it differently. I just don't think there is any basis for saying that he picks 'favourites'.  He picks whoever he thinks is best placed to do the job.  They might not be the same players you or I would pick.  We can definitely question his decision making (and we do), but I would never question his motives.

The two big errors for me this season have been the lack of impact made by our loan players, who have on the whole been very disappointing (Wing being an honourable exception and perhaps to a lesser extent Giles).  I also think playing Ben Wiles left right and centre, often all in the same game, has been counter-productive.  But I don't get paid the big money to actually make those decisions.  In reality, we all know that when teams win the manager gets patted on the back and when the team loses it is usually his fault for not doing something different.  Fairly or unfairly, that is just how it goes.

All this navel gazing though can be done at the end of the season.  For now it is all about girding our loins and scrapping for every point we can muster with the finish line almost in sight.

I think tonight is a must win game. Somehow we have to get a minimum of nine points imo if we are to have any chance of staying up. Barnsley and Brentford look very difficult games to get anything out of. I do think we could get something against Luton and possibly Blackburn at home. That would leave Cardiff at home on the last day of the season.

I don't know the fitness of the squad so it is difficult to know who will play. Surely Barlaser has to come back into the team. Lindsay should start and i think he will probably start with Smith and Ladapo up front. The problem is the attacking left side. Giles, Wiles and possibly Sadlier might be given a start. I will take a stab at this line up

Viking

Harding Wood Robertson

Olosunde Wiles Barlaser Lindsay Sadlier

Ladapo Smith

Plenty of choice from the bench in Giles, Crookes, Ogbene the McDonalds and Ihiekwe.

Tonight is deffo a must win.

I think we were down about 2 months ago based on season averages . To buck the trend a win tonight is a minimum...yep! It's that bad.

Middlesbrough's current form isn't too much to write home about. However, they'll not go down without a fight. Not much between us and them form wise. We should edge this game 3-1 in our favour even though quite a few pundits favour Middlesbrough to beat us. The match won't be a nail biter for me. I've got none left!!

After my plan for the European Super League to save our Championship status collapsed last night, we will have to do it all for ourselves. I'm not really bothered who PW puts out tonight (with a couple of exceptions) as long as everyone gives their all. If we can cut down on the multitude of silly free kicks that we've gifted the opposition of late (take note Ikky) and if we can complete the simple short passing game, we can go toe to toe with Middlesborough. Finally, a bit of luck please and the run of the ball - a couple of fortuitous deflected goals would suit me fine.

C'mon boys; do us proud!

I am predicting a 2-1 Millers win with the winner being a fluky deflection off Angus MacDonald's backside.  If there is any karma in the world, we and Angus are due it.

Ffs. That a nasty clash of heads but it isnt intentional. Crooks shouts 'mine' and looks only at the ball. Never a red card in a million years. You see clashes of heads almost every week. It's a free kick and maybe (only maybe) a yellow. On such things do seasons turn. Same ref who sent Smith off at Hillsborough. Shocking.

Never a sending off, Rotherham should have complained with the ref appointment following the Wednesday game, you have to play these types of tactics. I said on an earlier post the establishment want us down and Derby up, what a surprise that we have a player sent off within 20 mins. We were lucky with the disallowed goal and we concede from another corner, joint worst record in the league, let us remember Warne has said set pieces will be so important this season for us, well he is right. Worst home form in the league and last year was also awful, what is the stat they quoted only 8 wins out of 17 home games!!!! I would take a point now but I can imagine the ref giving them everything and a penalty as well.

The footballing gods just don't want us in the Championship. This ref is a disgrace - he could well cost us our place in the Championship and it's not his first offence! If Crooks red card is rescinded, what action will be taken against the ref - NONE! I called the moving ball as soon as the corner was taken, how come the ref doesn't see it?

At 1-0, I predicted there'd be many goals this evening - the game was so open. We're now right up against it and a point would be a major achievement. After such a positive start (although it was off the wrong part of MacDonald's body Smiler!) it's so disappointing that our destiny is being determined by forces outwith our control.

I'd get Lindsay on at half time - probably for Sadlier. We need some high balls into their area and one of our big boys on the end of them.

C'mon Rotherham!

..and yet nothing will be done against him. He could cost us relegation...

He thinks he sees things and give decisions on instinct... nono

.. and I thought Crooks looked really up for it and was playing well..

So tough being a Miller....

I dont know whether he thinks Crooks used his elbow, but it was clearly an accidental clash of heads. Apparently he deemed it serious foul play with his head. Absolute garbage! It's hard enough for us to compete on this division. It isnt a level playing field to begin with, but when decisions like we get so often go against us it is nigh on impossible. With the schedule we have had, to play 70 minutes with ten men is a massive ask. It's difficult to see anything but a Boro win now. But the players will give all they can.

Agreed Derby.  For all his virtues, that is something he is prone to.
