Smiler, I reckon Wednesday owners would not be to upset with relegation it will give them chance to move some big earners on .

Last night was a huge result for us, particularly given that it’s our first victory after conceding the opening goal. Warne did really well to find a balance that allowed rotation of players without fielding a reserve team and to make the right subs. Of course if we hadn’t won then captain hindsight and his many friends would be adding to the “Warne must go” thread on the basis that his team selection cost us the game. Quite ironic that Freddie was the hero last night after most fans criticised Warne last week for breaking up the Smith -Crooks partnership. Leaves him with a difficult decision to make on Thursday now. Not sure what my preference will be but i hope we remember the benefit of having a strong bench yesterday, and dont try and crowbar everyone into the starting team tomorrow (eg with Wiles at left back). Its a cup final tomorrow but after last nights result i wouldnt be upset with a draw, just dont lose it.

Lewis Wing has been great for us. If we could sign him permanently he would be a real asset. He is just missing a goal here and there but has come close a few times and his history suggests he has a goal or two in him. His work rate is phenomenal and he is decent on the ball.

If Wednesday do go down it could go one of two ways for them. It might allow them to rebuild, but sometimes it costs big money to offload highly paid players if they are not out of contract. I don't know where they stand contractually with their big earners like Bannan, Reach and Rhodes. Certainly their revenue will plummet, and they have already had and spent some of their season ticket revenue (assuming fans are allowed in) with tickets for several seasons ahead paid for a year or two ago. I don't know the ins and outs of things, but if they have had cashflow issues this season then next season will not be any easier.

I don't wish problems on them. They are a proud club with a long history, but looking from the outside in they appear to be in disarray.

On the plus side for them, I don't think they are down yet. They have a few relatively winnable games in their last few, ending with what could be a decisive game at Derby on the final day.
