gwru you poisonous negative little keyboard warrior.
You and your equally nauseous alter ego along with a weak almost non existent moderator is holding this potentially excellent forum back so kindly skulk back into your cesspit until our next defeat.

Your determination to be negative is a bad joke Gwru. They are a squad full of players with premier league pedigree. We gave a great account of ourselves, caused them problems and end up a bit disappointed to have lost it to the odd goal. We cant out-football Bournemouth in an open game. The neutrals on Sky know the situation and were very complementary about us.of course, you would know better. Not.

Hard watch that.

Nothing to do with us I thought we gave as good as we can and deserved a point but more the “gamesmanship” from Bournemouth. The rolling around and screaming at the slightest bit of contact was embarrassing to watch.

Disappointing to lose but we are a better side than a lot of those currently around us and really optimistic we can stay up.

BTM this would be a sad site left to you! What do we want a site for Warney boys only? Playing happy families all the time. Tell me positives tonight? Johansson yes I'll give you that one, did his job. Wouldn't say 11 that started none of them played bad but not good enough to get us anything out of the game.

The ref was conned into giving a couple of yellow cards when there wasnt even any contact, but on the whole I thought he was pretty good in all fairness.

Don't know what game gwru was watching... Negative? Please enlighten us with what in technical terms you would class that as negative football? A combination of Begovic and us missing a couple of top top chances were the difference. Same as home game I thought we did enough to win. That's not bad is it when they received £80m for getting relegated. Play like we have the last 6 weeks and we'll stay up. Without JL and Ogbene that's some achievement Only moan. Sorry Freddie seen enough. You try but for those of us old enough... Another Stewart Evans. We bought this guy for good money (for us) to score goals... They're still laughing at us in Plymouth... Must go and find a club that's a better fit in the summer

Was disappointment. That was the worst Bournemouth side seen for a while. I've said I've already written the Norwich game off. With the players we've got fit I don't know the answer. But Flo & Hirst aren't. Rest certain players at Norwich & target the following 3 games.

I thought he was about par for what to expect in this league in giving in to theatrics.

We also should have had a penalty when Begovic cleared Wood out from behind in the first half.

C - I agree with you about the Begovic challenge on Wood. He did get his first to the ball but does that excuse the dangerous clattering into the back of Wood to get there? Had it been a tackle outside the area, it would have been penalised as dangerous play whether or not he won the ball. Begovic pulled off another magnificent save from Wiles and over the two games he has saved his club 3 points. Perhaps justifying his hefty salary?

It is strange how every team we play is 'the worst (insert name) team (Gwru has) seen for a while' or doesn't 'turn up'. Do you think it ever occurs to him that this might be something to do with us making it difficult for them?

The bloke diving around to get Wiles booked, doing a Tom Daley impression in added time and pretending to cramp up to waste time cost them £30m. They have netted around £80m from selling three players this season, some of which they have reinvested. They have a further £80m from parachute payments and are still bankrolled by the Russian oligarch billionaire who helped them buy their way into the Premier League last time they were in this division. Our total revenue this season will be about £12m. The bit of quality that won the game came from £15m Philip Billing. They brought on £20m Brooks as a sub. We brought on our record signing Freddie Ladapo who cost about £500K. They left Mepham, who they paid £12m for, and England international Jack Wilshere on the bench as unused subs.

I am not using any of these things as excuses. Just trying to provide some context. Some call the Premier League the most competitive in the world. I think it is one of the unfairest. Bournemouth (and Norwich and others) are on a different planet than we are financially, much of it funded by handouts, but we have to try and match them week in week out. We are doing everything we can to be competitive, and are doing a decent job of it.

We lost 1-0 away to Bournemouth and were a bit unlucky to lose it. It is frustrating. But anyone who looks at that and describes us as disappointing and can not find a single positive or a single word of praise for our efforts either has a weird agenda or is just not wired up right. In my opinion.

We played well against a average team (but good squad), the save from Wiles was world class and Freddies miss was awful to not hit the target is a disgrace. However I have to agree with qwru on the flo substitution that was absolutely bizarre, he hasn't done anything since he joined, he is not capable of playing the high pressing game and we were severely weakened by that substitution. S. Mac for Barlazer would have allowed wiles to push up more whilst still having a ball winner in central mid. Wing should not have been taken off he was our most creative player the look on his face when he was taken off said it all, I am assuming he wasn't injured as no treatment was given to him when he went off. The sad news is that is now 2 games where we should have got at least a point and we lost them both, if Norwich goes the way we expect it would be 3 defeats on the trot and that is a tend we need to stop quickly. Main point is we are not the same team without Lindsay

Incidentally, for all that the good sides in this division have players who are capable of a bit of quality to score a goal, i think it is easy to overlook that they also have some very good defenders. I thought the two best players on the pitch last night were the left back Rico and the centre back Carter-Vickers. Olosunde tried to get at Rico early on and got no change whatsoever, and he has a very good left foot. Carter-Vickers is a bit of a beast. Their keeper isn't bad either.

I've got to agree they get top marks for diving to get Wiles booked & time wasting at the end. Watched it closely didn't think it was a penalty on Wood. Tactics at the end throwing Wood up front that was desperate we are not playing a team you can do that against. I've said I don't know the answer with squad we've got & missing the likes of Lindsay. Target winnable games a possible way to get back to getting points on the board. Also not bringing subs on like Flo & Hirst who have no impact on the game.

As others have said, it was hard to take that we didn't get a point, which we deserved.

Freddy MUST hit the target with his chance, but it does seem he needs several chances to get a goal, Smudge is the same generally, and that's the difference at the moment - the quality you get for the £Millions teams like Bournmouth have means they take more of the chances they create.

Same in goal, Begovic made several top class saves, especially the Wiles one, and he did the same at NYS.

For me I think we compete as well as anyone, so it's a case of can we create enough chances in games to score some of them..

We have to accept what we have - but if we can repeat the form of last few games and keep the squad fit, we have a chance to stay up.

I think maybe we should also try Giles and Wing in our starting line-up together.. & give Olosunde a rest.

It was a game where any result could be justified .

I am anxious about the current form. Its decent but it's not proved effective last twice out.

We sorely miss a box striker in these games. It's sad that it's so hard to find strikers at any level. They are expensive for the obvious reason.

We go forward with some worries : can't afford even one injury and having to rely on other teams from now till the end of the season.

The good is that PW has built a decent squad for the status we have and he is getting very much the best from the team. I think we are competitive against anyone in this division.

I think one important thing we've all missed is the weather effect. We've played the last two games in very poor weather conditions and that works against Rotherham for two reasons;

  • Our preferred 3.5.2 system requires football to be played on the ground with quick, accurate passes to release our wingbacks. Against Cardiff and Bournemouth, the ball spent more time in the air than Louis Bleriot! Not conducive to our style.
  • In bad weather conditions, teams who have players with high levels of skill tend to cope better. This was notable last night with Bournemouth's ability to bring the ball down and string good passes together on a counter attack.

Hopefully we'll have some better conditions over the next few weeks which will help us play to our strengths.
