Bournemouth Away

Can we get something at Bournemouth on a Wednesday night live on Sky?  Or are you consumed with premonition of trouble on horizon, as was the late great Mark E Smith when he saw his Bournemouth Runner?  Bournemouth are sixth. With the likes of Solanke and Wilshere The Cherries have some quality in their ranks, but we beat Bristol City and Middlesbrough when they sat in similar spots in the table, and went to Goodison Park and more than held our own. This feels like another one of those free hits to me.  Give it a go and see what happens. It will be challenging, but we needn't fear anyone.

We'll be the fresher of the two sides. Would like A McDonald in for Wood. Giles on the left. Olosunde or Harding on the right. You know I'd like Vickers in goal but can't see that happening. Cooper probably not tomorrow but next home game in defence with Ihiekwe & Robbo. Just think it's time to phase Wood out.

No wasn’t aware you’d like Vickers in goal don’t think you’ve mentioned it On a serious note keep writing Wood off I’d personally play him every game unless injured

I would like to see James Barker get a debut. You have to blood a player at some point.

Bournemouth flew up for the game at NYS and flew back from Doncaster straight after the match. With a long journey back through the night and then another exhaustive trip to Norwich to follow you'd think we'd do the same. The cost of plane hire wouldn't that much more expensive than forking out for 20 odd hotel rooms, coach hire etc. Seems to be the norm these days.

I think I'd be staying overnight in Bournemouth after the game and then travelling straight to Norwich rather than returning to Rotherham. However, not sure what the regulations are regarding staying hotels during these strange times - unless you're returning from a country on the Red list of course!

Has Barker joined us Smiler? Can't see any mention of him on the official site.

I thought we could sign a free agent, Glenn.  He is my mate's nephew.  Plays as a full back in the local leagues.  I have heard he is decent.  I haven't seen him play myself, but I would like to see what he can do.

Ah, I see. Well based on your assessment, I've got a good feeling about him and suggest he deserves a starting place at AFC tonight!

We should be relaxed but very keen for this one. We have nothing to lose and we won't have another chance to be more rested than the opponents for the rest of the season.

Happy to see what happens...

Stick with same formation and play strongest side from outset...ladapo and Hirst on bence . The rest still picks itself with the 5 minus lindsay.

He's got it.  See who is right.  Here are the possible outcomes: -

1. I won't change my mind if he doesn't get picked. Warney won't have picked him because he isn't one of Warneys Boys.

2. If he does get picked and is good he will be one of my boys!

3. If he does get picked and is awful I definitely won't be wrong - he will have changed my mind with performances.

Whatever happens, I won't ever be wrong.

Tell me different.

See whose right tonight. Johansson & Wood not for me. Giles I'd prefer starting on the left but just hope we're still in the game when we bring him on.

I agree with you Ian. We might be fresher than them. Having said that, they have a good squad s perhaps can change personnel without losing much, and the five subs rule also helps. We should try and play with a high tempo though and get at them a bit. This is one where we aren't really expected to get anything but we just might. Not much to lose.

Same starting line-up as the Cardiff game. I think the key battle is going to be in midfield so we're looking to Barlaser, Wing and Wiles to take control and get our wing-backs into the game to provide our two big men up front. Simple!

Disappointed that Barker didn't even make the bench!

Good first half. We have played very well. Hit on the break after a slip. Quite unfortunate to be a goal down.

Yeah - there's nothing much between the teams. Johansson has done well - nothing he could do about the goal. The wind has hampered us in the first half - hopefully it will assist us in the second. We're gradually coming back into this one.

Can't believe bringing Flo on! Where's Giles? Had nothing on the left all the game.

We have lost, but I thought we were very good. I can't say we deserved to win but a point would have been fair enough. We have missed a couple of big chances. You have to take them. Wonder save from their keeper. Johansson absolutely superb. We miss Lindsay. Overall a good performance, and a shame we didnt get something for it.

Agree Smiler - a point would have been a fair result. Bournemouth put on a master class on how to play out 5 minutes of injury time - we never touched the ball. I questioned the subs, but as soon as the new legs came on we created our best chance which Freddie should have buried - so credit to the manager. On to Norwich. Nothing lost tonight - just another game closer to retaining our Championship status.
Oh - and I agree - Johansson was superb. He definitely has the shirt!

We got what we deserved. Nothing. We had two chances. Did they have another chance apart from their goal? But we were so negative. No width. What did Flo do when he came on, same as most of the time he's been here, nothing again. I've written Norwich game off already.
