Unfortunately referees are human like us all and have power, he decided that Rotherham were not getting anything from him last night, I have no idea why but he made the difference.
Regarding us we did well but a few comments on what I saw.
1. The last 15 mins they seemed to want it more than us
2. Another team with an excellent bench that allows them to replace good players with other good players
3. The snow took the edge of us they dealt with it by managing the ball better than us, Giles is a great player but in the snow he was like a puppy seeing it for the first time, he couldn't keep hold of the ball.
4. I thought Harding had one of his worst games for a long time
5. I like this keeper, he is passionate a great reader of the game and very capable, would be great if he was 6' 4" but as smiler said he wouldn't be at Rotherham if he was
6. We miss Lindsay
7. Wing - Great player but loses the ball too often at the moment he is still learning how to press high as well, that miss at the end was shocking though
8. Wood is such a battler, he gives everything he has, at 35 to be playing at that level is amazing
9. S. MacDonald - it is interesting we don't play him when Lindsay is out, I think he is now a last resort midfielder because he doesnt have the legs to press high and recover position, I think he has been a bad signing overall
10. Smith and Crooks are looking the business so I hope they stay fit and keep it up.
We are a half decent team at the moment and we are capable of winning games, we still need more work on how not to lose them though, but everyone is giving it their best and that is wonderful to see and a credit to the management team
I look at it my glass is half full could easily have been a draw at Preston same result last night so we are a point better off onwards and upwards. Lamy has got a contract at Grimsby played Saturday hope you do well.
You can’t leave it can you TH Gru one last dig about Lamy he’ll not make the grade he’s from about the 5th division in France and is heading there with Grimsby in England so please leave it now
whiston01 derby tell me something I don't know. We all must know Johansson isn't tall enough. We're going to miss Lindsay. Giles didn't have his snow boots on last night! S Mac he's past his sell by date. Crooks & Smith our form players up front. Can't remember the rest. Good to see Robbo back match fit. Sadlier might be a better option to bring on instead of Ladapo & Hirst. What you see now got to get the best out of them. When Lindsay Chio Mattock return season will almost be over.

Lamy I'd still have him here. Get him up to speed he's got far more to offer than Flo. smiler Vaulks would walk into our side holding midfield player. I wouldn't say he was the most gifted of players but his game it's route 1 really tackle get forward long throws he can take corners he does for Cardiff & goals. My favourite player of ours since we've been at the NYS.
Here is a more relevant fact. Johansson is 1cm taller than England's goalkeeper, and is also taller than Lee Camp, who many rate as the best keeper to play for us in our NYS days. Having seen Johansson several times now, my assessment would be that in an ideal world he would be a couple of inches taller, but he is as brave as a lion and is a very good shot stopper. The save from Morrison last night was Peter Schmeichel-esque and world class. He can overcome the height thing by learning to be more commending, coming and punching well, and also perhaps being a bit cuter to get decisions when the opposition are boxing him in or blocking him off. I am sure they work hard with him every day and he seems the kind to work hard and improve. Certainly they are the messages coming out of the club. I would definitely stick with him.
Gwru on the O/T section i will put some facts/information up about the forthcoming Cheltenham festival that you won't know about, but more importantly you will dismiss. Every day from today through to Cheltenham i will put something up. Take a look, you never know it might add to your vast knowledge of the racing in March.
According to to Wikipedia Jordan Pickford is 1.85 m which is the same height as Johansson if you can believe it. Looks as if I will have to get get the old trusty tape measure out again.
I think the problem with S. McDonald, Glenn,is that he has hardly ever been fit. I think the way we are now playing would not really suit him. As Derby said,i would doubt he has the legs to press high and recover.
I think his qualities are his ability to break up play and his composure on the ball when all around are losing their heads. But take the point about his fitness.
With what you have said, i think he might play a part coming on later in a game to steady the ship, especially if we are in front. Like most in our squad he will play some part in hopefully keeping us up.
Cannot defend the referee's decision making at all. There are 3 grades of foul, careless (free kick), reckless (YC no consideration given to opponents safety) and exessive force (RC speaks for itself).
Most of those shoves were YCs and it really winds me up when an unsure referee errs on the side of caution just because a penalty will be awarded. There is nothing in the rules that states a referee should err on the side of caution or 'use common sense'. (Although we do so in youth football). A foul is a foul no matter where it is on the pitch and irrespective of the resulting cir***stance. A shove is dangerous as it causes players to fall in an uncontrolled way influenced by the opponents intentional contact. I actually think the referee doesn't see half of them (he's face on to bodies with shoves going on behind) - this is a glaring fault that his positioning wasn't good enough.
I don't often swear and scream at a referee (like I did last night), it is sometimes a thankless task, but this guy last night fell well short of any standard never mind what level he's at and level of competition he's refereeing. His indefensible decision making was a danger to the players it's his first duty to protect.
We were competitive again. I do think Cardiff edged it though we played well and can count ourselves unlucky not to get a point. As others noted the officials seemed off and when the snow came down we seemed to lose it.
We have a good shot at staying up , but if it goes to the last day it wouldn't surprise me.
I thought we were a little slow in moving the ball overall.
It was edge of the seat stuff. PW , said that he told them to go toe-to-toe with them and believe they are as good. Well, I was worried the way we stated and the way we finished. Some have pointed to our game management and we have struggled with that in the first half of the season. I hope the coaching staff and players remain focused on the job. It was however great to see smudge and crooks really start to believe in their ability.
I'm a little concerned about Harding following yesterday and the last handful of games.

Harding when he joined us Birmingham fans said he's a right back play him nowhere else. But can we start every game with Giles on the left? It's a balancing act.
