I don't know whether we have the option of electing to return those on loan.
As for players who we own, the bottom line is that the player has to agree to move on. You can tell them they aren't part of your plans and that they aren't going to play. You can encourage them to move on. You can - as Wilder did at SUFC - go public and criticise players in that situation for not wanting to play games. That is all possible. But if the player wants to he can sit out a contract and take the money and there is very little a club can do about it. Ask Sunderland fans about Jack Rodwell.
The problem becomes more difficult when a player has no prospect of moving for a higher wage. Often in that situation the existing club has to meet the gap that a loan club won't stretch to, or has to pay up a lump sum to soften the blow and buy the contract out.
In a nutshell, it is easy to criticise a club for not doing business overnight, and to suggest 'move these five out and get five more in' or whatever, but it really isn't a simple process either way (out or in).
Agree with all that smiler but Warne has also said in the current climate if for example Vassell can get himself say an 18 month contract ( think his deals up with us end of season) at a league 1 club hopefully he’d be tempted to go bit more secure but perhaps less money he’d be playing every week
Possibly so. That part of the decision he would have to make. I know he is a favourite target for criticism and dont get me wrong, he isnt a Championship footballer, but in his defence he has never really had a run of games as an out and out centre forward. He has tended to play either behind or one side.or the other of another but rarely as a central striker and the majority of his appearances have been as a sub. He scored a fair few goals for Blackpool in League One and I think he would do a good job for someone at that level. Anyway, I digress. I wouldnt be averse to Vass moving on if it could be done and we could get a better option in.
If any of you had bothered to read the last weeks tizer our chairmann has said there is some money for this transfer window. There is a problem moving players on manager takes the blame for that he signed them. Only player anyone wants at the moment is Kayode seems warney does not very strange.
I think if you read all of the 'Tiser' T.H ,Warne said there has been interest in some of our players. Kayode is playing in the fourth tier and doing ok by all accounts. We are in the second tier and the interest in Kayode is not from second tier clubs. The step up in class is massive. Warne and the team will develop the young player at the rate that will benefit him, as said by so many on here so many times. Try trusting the management team on this one.
Which players I bet Olosunde is one I am talking about fringe players. If we are going to be active in this transfer window as our chairman said some we will have to move some on first. Over the years we have played younger players than Kayode in the first team. Other teams have no problem playing young players why should we be any different.

Up front apart from Smith & because we can't move them all out Ladapo who we got good enough? I know I wanted Hirst but we need forwards good enough now. Kayode to replace Hirst, new signing for Vassell. But with this manager whose playing happy families be lucky if he gets one forward out. But it's payback time now for giving contracts to the likes of Jones. A club like Roth U can't carry any passengers.
Gwru, it's all very well saying we need people good enough but you have to be able to afford them. I am all for improving the quality of the squad if we can but I'm not in favour of getting people in on the off chance they might be better. That is the problem with Kayode. He has done alright in league two but as Whiston says it is a huge leap to suddenly do it two leagues higher. A while ago you said we needed a striker or strikers in, and your own criteria were (1) no history of injury, (2) under 28, (3) championship experience and (4) a track record of scoring goals in the Championship. I invited you to name somebody we might be able to afford who ticked those boxes. I'm still waiting.
Kayode I see as 4th choice striker but could move up the pecking order. smiler Colby Bishop signing I'd be looking at, could be within our budget. Left full/wing back should be 1st signing. Harry Pickering name I've heard mentioned good age played regularly. Not heard we are showing an interest but you never know. Both players look good investments to me.

Colby Bishop is under 28 so he ticks that box. He has had hamstring issues but nothing major. He has never played in the Championship though, and has never scored a goal at that level. Bishop and Kayode are definitely not meeting two of your four criteria.
Have you got anybody in mind who meets your criteria Gwru, or have you moved your goalposts?
smiler my criteria is to get players we could afford better than we've got. Clark Robertson on I follow looks happy & fit. Hope so fit he's a championship player but Warney don't play him left back he's not built for that position.
smiler last Friday Colby Bishop he scored twice watched that. It's a risk. But any signing up front would be the same with our budget for the championship.
I thought that you had 'seen something' in George Hirst when he made a brief cameo substitute appearance for Leicester. Now you seem to be distancing yourself and done a u-turn in much the same way that Trump is trying to distance himself from the seige of Capitol Hill. Were you wrong about Hirst, or have you changed your mind?
