I’d also play Olosunde and Giles tomorrow. But Harding will get plenty more games, we’ll need to rotate and players will pick up knocks. I’m a little worried we’ve left ourselves thin on cover with the number of outs vs ins (even allowing for one in today). On the other hand, we look better for having a settled team so maybe a smaller squad will be better providing we’re luckier with injuries in the remaining months.
I'm with you DKNY.
We seem to have consciously trimmed the wage bill by moving out Jones, Vassell and Thompson. Tilt and Proctor were out on loan already and that looks set to be repeated. None of them had much if any impact in the first half of the season.
On the 'in' side, Giles looks a great addition. Having Robertson and Shaun MacDonald back really helps and Sadlier is apparently not far away. He is very versatile. I'm not sure how far away Mattock is. Hopefully another forward thinking player today.
All in all, it feels to me like we will be stronger going into the second half of the season but there is still a lingering doubt about whether we have enough bearing in mind that we have two games a week virtually every week.
Transfer deadline day no white smoke coming out of the NYS at the moment. Definitely need another two players in we are very lightweight on the subs bench be lucky if we get one.
Can't just budge up in the championship. Two keepers we've seen this season one he's costs us like Saturday too many times. Others not tall enough. Vickers give him a go, what's he here for then if we don't. We need cover for Smith up front good enough. Can't expect Smudger to start 2 games a week till nearly the end of the season.
We had Vickers on trial in the Summer, Warne didn't sign him because he thought that his two targets, Blackman and Johansson were better. Price left so he signed Vickers as third choice, that is why he is here. Third choice because Warne still obviously thinks Blackman and Johansson are better. If he thought Vickers was better he would've signed him as number one in the summer. If he thought he was better than the other two he would play him. I don't know what is so hard to understand about that.
I think Blackman is the latest in a long line to point the finger of blame at. To say he cost us Saturday is very harsh imo. I personally think he should have caught the ball for the second goal, but how many of today's goalkeepers would have caught that ball( not many). He managed to punch the ball 25 yards out admittedly in a central position. i would lay the blame if that is what we want to do on the first and second goal with defenders too slow to react and too far away from the Swansea player striking the ball. I think it would be crazy putting Vickers into the starting eleven. I have no idea how good he is and neither do people on here. I think the management team might, and he appears to be third cover. That is good enough for me but not for the posters who want to get at Warne.
We need to get somebody in today (at least one imo). We have taken Tilt( i think), Thompson,Jones, Vassell and Miller out of the squad. Add to this long term injuries to Mattock and Ogbene and i think we will struggle to get fit players on the pitch and on the subs bench. Ideally we need a striker and an attacking midfield player but i only expect the latter. Kayode was only on the bench on Saturday which surprised me. i wonder if he is struggling for fitness. What is Proctor doing ?
The same people asking why do we need 3 keepers aree the same people who would be the first to slate Warne if one got injured and we were left with no keeper on the bench. As for the emergency loan argument, you still have to find a club willing to loan a keeper out, then you have to hope he'd be willing to come, and then you have to hope he's any good. It's not as simple as 'just get an emergency loan'.
Read this on MM. Loan agreement penalty applying to Sheff W for not giving Izzy Brown enough game time. Saying we've got a similar agreement with Blackman. Who signed that what's he doing here! We've got a keeper not good enough & we've got to play him! You couldn't make it up!
Don't panic my friend according to Wikipedia Vickers is 6 foot 4 inches tall I know you can't believe everything you read on the internet. I did see him play against us when we played Lincoln looked tall enough had a decent game also seen him on tv if wogga rates him will do for me.

what chance do we have when forest 1 place above us can sign Glen Murray from Brighton, we have to be realistic. if football wasn't so corrupt that it lets clubs break the financial rules, rules that are so light anyway any punishment is small and usually reduced. we have to hope that we get someone in and our team mentality is enough

Forest get Glenn Murray in QPR get Charlie Austin in. Birmingham are on a recruitment drive. QPR and Birmingham have both been sanctioned before for financial breaches, as have Wednesday who had their deduction put into this year so that it didn't actually penalise them too badly. Derby have obviously flirted with the rules. It is reported that a betting company funds a large proportion of Rooney's reputed £90k per week wages through some sponsorship arrangement. We play strictly by the rules which is admirable, but one thing is for sure - it is a million miles from being a level playing field. All the same, I would rather be us than them whether we stay up or not.

Always going to be kicking up hill in the Championship. Just look at the difference in what teams receive from success and promotion from the first division, set against the reward for failure in relegation from the Premiership. Totally wrong, and makes that slope we are kicking up against look like the worse football pitch used at Concorde Park!! Mr Stewart's pockets only so deep, and will be even shallower without fans income. So I don't expect to see any white smoke drifting up from the rafters at New York. Be nice but it won't happen, mores the pity.
