Is that the same Koroma that scored 6 goals for Huddersfield in what 15 games before his recent injury? Wish we’d got someone as rubbish as that

Neither was Lamy but you're still obsessed by him!

Glenn, you are foolishly basing your assessment on facts and evidence. You are allowing yourself to be swayed by the fact that Koroma has had a very successful season to date in the Championship, whereas Lamy can not find a professional club willing to give him a game. You are overlooking the fact that every professional manager and scouting system in the country is woefully inadequate, and that Gwru's Magic Eye knows more than the rest of them put together on the basis of a reserve team game and ten minutes against a team already three down. You never learn, do you?

Josh Karoma played 86 mins in total for us (all from the bench) before covid ended the season, including 36 minutes at New York across two sub appearances. He didn't show a lot in those 36 minutes, but then it's not exactly long enough to make a judgement. The reason he probably didn't get much of an opportunity was because he was trying to break into a very good side that was already in the automatic promotion places, rather than because he wasn't good enough. He's proving this season to be a very good player at this level.

Engage brain cell may be the reason Koroma did not show much because the present manager is very poor at bringing young players through.

True y'honor and guilty as charged. In mitigation, I would wish it to be known that I have now adopted the TTR protocol and therefore ask that this be taken into consideration in sentencing!

Taylor was a one touch player make room for a cross or shot. Out of four wingers we had then for end product I'd say he had more than the other 3. Regarding Lamy yes Warney gave him a years contract but then loaned him out last January & got two worse players in Adelakun & Koroma. Then released him this summer & kept Jones, no logic in that. To cap it all two wingers we have now are no better than the two I've mentioned from the January window last season.

 Hi Gwru

had to reply to this one as i nearly spat my cornflakes out at the use of Taylor and end product in the same sentence. The lack of end product was clearly visible.

towards the end of last season (just before lockdown) i researched whether Ogbene was closing in (in half a season) on Taylors assists over 3 seasons and found he had already surpassed him. *based on the one website i could find that published such stats. Taylor managed a magnificent 5 assists in his 3 seasons, though he did chip in with 12 goals as well, bettered only be Newell as a scorer.

i have now collected a few more stats for you. I have included Ogbene for comparison though if course he has only done it in league 1 so far and the other 4 had a mixture of 1 and the championship so its no surprise that Ogbene is the most effective. Also the appearances dont account for whether they were starts or sub.

Ogbene 7 assists 1 goal 28 appearances 0.29 end product per game

Newell 22 assists 14 goals 139 apps 0.26 end product

Forde 18  assists 5 goals 101 apps  0.23 end product

Williams 10 assists  5 goals 81 apps 0.19 end product

Taylor 5 assists 12 goals 108 apps 0.16 end product

DKNY hi. I don't check stats but Taylor his goals per games are up there with Newell best out of wingers back then. His assists prove my point we never played him right. He wasn't a winger like Ogbene who could run against defenders.

I think he just wasn’t good enough to be honest. But i agree to some extent that we didn’t use the wingers properly when playing 4-5-1 and get them to support Smith more. Still an issue this season, with the exception of the S.Wednesday game when they both stayed forward much to John Breckins dismay in the commentary, but it worked.

Like I keep trying to tell them on here his lack of height was against him same as two fit wingers we have now not strong enough. There are good players out there like that but last one I can remember was Hursty for us.

I disagree with you there, i really like Miller. I don’t see the relevance of strength for his role, he is hard working and surprisingly good in the air for his size. Like Taylor he is lacking end product but i look forward to seeing him improve on this.

Kyle Joseph at Wigan looks a very useful young prospect.
