I did note in one of your boring messages you wanted Cook as a possible next manager how long did it take you to work that one out. Already been done and dusted by a couple of people who know nowt about football a bit slow on the uptake there

"I don't want Warne to go, but if that decision was made, I wouldn't be against Paul Cook."

I don't want Paul Cook as Manager, I want Paul Warne as manager, I was speaking in relation to Brads post, but if you'd read it properly you'd know that.

Paul Cook is a very good manager at this level, nobody has suggested otherwise, but again, you'd know that if you ever took any real notice of what people said.

Instead you prefer to act like a thick, sh*t stirring old tw*t and to be fair to you, there is nobody better at it.

One of the reasons I haven't been touting him for our new manager is because I don't think we need a new one.

Now F*ck off.

That simply isnt what he said at all. He said that he didnt want Warne to leave but if that decision was made he wouldnt have a problem with Cook coming in, except that he has a track record of moving on quickly. Is that too complicated for you? If Cook wasnt available in that situation then fear not - those two top managers Coughlan and Parkinson still might be. We can only hope.

It's unbelievable. I mentioned Paul Cook 1st on here, TH next. Now BTM mentions him RM he's crawling all round him! Today it's got to Warney's last chance to get it right. We can't give up with 29 games to go.

If Cook was to come in and do another Warnock I would be one hell of a happy puppy.

Realmiller makes a great point in his excellent lengthy post last night regarding our ambitions for fourth bottom

Before the season started the majority would have settled for “finish fourth bottom and build on it”

I wonder how many of them thought we’d finish fourth bottom by going the season unbeaten ?

It’s easy to start out with realistic ambitions. Much harder to suffer watching your team lose most weeks which is what fourth bottom entails. Particularly as we have a tactical dilema, pack the midfield, compete but dont look like scoring as per early season, or play two up top and concede more as per recently. It may be that to chase the odd win we have to accept that the defeats will be heavier, but our fans wont accept that its clear.

Having not been lower than fifth bottom so far (and i realise this might be my last chance to say that on current form) Warne is actually over achieving. Finish where we are and its been a success.

But after every defeat theres a social media inquest from a large number people who have no concept that two teams participate in a game and believe its totally in our managers control. Every defeat, and some draws, are because he picked the wrong team, selected the wrong tactics, made the wrong subs or had poor game management at the end.

Here’s a question...

What if Warne picks the right team and tactics, makes the right substitions and displays good game management..

..and so does the opposing manager ?

It's not my wish to see Warne ousted. I understand he is a well respected manager within the game as is the club and chairman; what could be wrong with that? However, what I find frustrating is, despite having a new tranche of players, we are having a repeat, almost a carbon copy, of performances, results, penalties against us and another repeated list of desperately needed players in the sick bay, or getting suspended when we need them most. A very familiar scenario from the last time we were the points donors to the division. I appreciate the difficulties in the quality we can afford against teams coming down from the prem or established championship clubs. As a result, like most others on here, I am realistic enough to accept it is going to be a struggle and finishing 4th from bottom would be a result, But there are other clubs comparable to us who seem to be managing better, Luton, Barnsley for instance Like last time, we were told that we would be better prepared to compete in this division and we were all feeling optimistic that this time we would make a fist of it. The disappointment is, nothing seems to have change at all. There's no doubt the team are giving 100%, but the claim that we are better prepared this time seems rather hollow. Same players selected, same mistakes made, points lost to daft penalties given away, no effective goal scorer, players playing out of position, it all looks sadly familiar. I don't have an answer, if I did I'd be the manager not Warne but unless there is a change in approach soon I think we can all see the end result as being the same as before; and let's not forget we are not likely to be saved at the 11th hour by another clubs punishment like Barnsley were.

Excellent post by DKNY imo. I think it is fair to compare us with Luton and possibly Millwall but certainly not Barnsley. The owners of Barnsley have an estimated wealth of over £9 billion. Barnsley have an amazing youth set up and are well on their way to establishing themselves as a championship club. Where is your evidence it is all too cosy 'Hensons'. When i have watched training at Parkgate in previous seasons it is anything but cosy. As for fresh ideas, i suppose that is a possiblity but whoever comes in has to work with what we have got and all the restrictions we all know about.

I think today is a game we have a chance of getting point/points from. I am not going to try and pick the team or the style, i will leave that to better people on here than me. Zak Vyner, who many thought was useless or not much better is holding down a place and playing well apparently. Another decent loanee spotted by our useless team. Get Parkinson in now. Tell me different. LOL.

whiston01 if I was Roth U manager I'd be saying Vyner he's an inbetween player same as he was with us he's not a right back but not over big for a centre back he's a weakness. Problem with that have we got a forward to test Vyner? I can't see one. RM ect... it's not about we are 5th from the bottom. We are playing nothing like a lower championship side. There's weaknesses in goal, no cover at centre back, no fit left back, no fit wide players good enough, forwards no threat. All we can do is try to out muscle sides while January then strengthen & move players on not good enough. Can't see Warney being up to that. I'm surprised he's still here. I've said manager I'd bring in.

Re Blackman

"Every penalty we concede (& there've been a few) he has a nice little lie down, nowhere near any of them".

There have been 6. Only one down to a Blackman error. Maybe he is jittery because he doesn't know what the defenders in front of him are going to do. It's a two way thing. It has been pointed out that the David de Gea has failed to save any of the last 19 penalties he has faced.

A very good question, and I think it's quite telling that nobody has made an attempt to answer it.

How am I crawling all round him?

1) You only mentioned Cook because somebody else did on MM.

2) It's not exactly difficult to think of him as he's pretty much the only realistic option.

Having said that, I reckon Cook might think he's done enough in his career now to deserve a crack at an established Championship Club, rather than one in our position.

Still running away from the questions earlier on the thread I see, grow a pair of balls George.

Johansson; Olosunde, Ihiekwe, A.MacDonald, Wood, Wiles; Lindsay, Crooks, Barlaser; Smith, Vassell.

SUBS | Blackman, Jones, Thompson, Harding, Clarke, Jozefzoon, Hirst, Ladapo.

Wasn't expected to see Blackman not playing, he's played a lot worse earlier in the season than he has in the last few games and kept his place.

According to Paul Davis Miller is ill and Harding has played every match and is rested.

Its odd timing with Blackman because he hasnt done much if anything wrong recently but kept his place after a couple of dodgy ones. Having said that, no problem with Johannson getting his chance. Looks like 352 again with Olosunde and Wiles as wing backs. Watch out for Chris Martin buying a penalty for them. He is a master at it. Vyner was alright for us. He was treated disgracefully by a section of our supporters. Also Jack Hunt for them. He was excellent for us. We wouldnt be able to afford him these days. A bit Tavernier like - good going forward but not the greatest defender.

Happy to see Johannson get a chance. No problems with the line up and the formation that Smiler describes. No worries with Chris Martin, he's too busy concentrating on his next album!
Come on you Reds!!
