After predicting a tight goalless draw on Saturday i won't be making any prediction about this one. Watford's defeat by Cardiff on Saturday took them out of the top six and meant they had failed to score in three out of their last four games. They have only won one of their last five games but that was a thumping of P.N.E by four goals to one and i think shows what they are capable of.
Watford usually set up with a 4.4.2. formation. They have their talisman and captain Troy Deeney leading the line and usually partnered by Joao Pedro (also called Jesus). They play with a bit of width and use Sema and Sarr or Quina. In the middle they are blessed with talent with people like Cleverley, Garner and Chalobah all used from time to time. International Foster in goal and a steady defence will make them hard to beat for anybody.
I am not going to guess what set up we will use or what personnel will play. I do think Watford are capable of giving out thumpings to any team in this league and believe we could be going at a bad time, with our confidence low and them licking their wounds. I have belief in our fighting spirit and teamwork so i expect us to go and keep everything as tight as possible and i am also a realist, that if Watford's stars who have played at higher levels and have greater skills turn up and play their best then we will lose. However, we can spoil parties and this might just be a night when we have something to celebrate. Let us hope so and not look for them to lose so the knockers can get back on their high horses.
We are in the mire! Whatever formation we play we haven't the wide players. Up front it's that bad Vassell looks our best option there! No alternative left back. I'm surprised Warney hasn't gone by now. This management team haven't got what you need to change it. Don't appers to have the players either. But some managers could get more out of the current players. Tony Stewart must know. See if does anything about it.
'Let us hope so and not look for them to lose so the knockers can get back on their high horses'. Looks like we have already heard from the two biggest knockers on the site, Whiston.
Match is said to be on the red button on sky. I'm a fan of the club. Managers/players come & go but the club will go on. It hasn't worked getting x players running the playing side of the club. Time for a change.
Ronnie/Breck 1st time got it right. It's harder now so need a management team who can deal with that. Teams like Coventry & Luton are. Wycombe look to have more about them than us.
At a time when there is no income coming through the gates I don’t see a change in management taking place. I for one think the desire to rubbish what we have got and throw any name into the ring is totally disrespectful.
I thought the performance of everyone yesterday was poor. I think I called it a shambles but they are my team and I will go on supporting them and try to keep my own integrity by being respectful to players, management and the contributors on this site.
I can think of two other ex players who have managed us. Billy McEwan and Phil Henson. Both did decent jobs and won a promotion with us. The statement that ex players as managers doesnt work isn't really stacking up, is it?
Not stacking up Evans 2nd to Ronnie in my view Porterfield what a team. Emlyn Hughes that run in his 1st season loved that. Not fair to say our best mangers came from ex players. Was Jack Mansell an ex player slightly before my time some you wrinkles might know.
I'm not saying all out best managers were ex players. But the ex players who have had a go at it have generally been good managers. Going back further I think Danny Williams also did well. Gwru said it doesnt work. Do you agree with him?
