FA Cup Third Round Draw

Live on BBC tonight at 7pm. Are we bothered at all, or is it the case that we have a congested fixture list already and sont need the extra games? If we have a preference, is it for a game that is easier on paper, or straight into a tie with one of the big boys?

Do we want one of the big boys if none of us can go? It'd be a sickener to get the likes of Liverpool or Man Utd at home and have to play with no fans, or even worse only 2000 (how would those tickets get distributed?!)

About half of them would probably find their way into the hands of Rotherham based Man U fans. That seems to be the norm.

Seriously RealMillee you make a good point. What is in this for us? Probably just the prize money and TB money as opposed to a share of gate money. So ideally we want a soft draw and a chance to move on into round 4 or 5.

Can't really get too excited about the FA Cup this year I'm afraid.

Smiler - Interested to know what you would consider a 'soft draw' for RUFC - one of the Sheffield clubs perhaps?!

Our FA Cup record across several managers is appalling. Am I right in thinking our last third round win was Southampton in 2002?

Wednesday would be perfect. Local derby, might make the telly and a guaranteed win. Our recent record is very poor.

In normal times that's a good draw - good day out to a great old stadium and a share of good gate receipts. This year there wont be either, and I cant see it being selected as a main tv game. We will be frm second favourites. So a bit of a nothing draw to be honest.

Went there a couple of years ago in the League Cup? If my memory serves me right, there were 33k there that night. I think we lost 2-0 but I could be wrong as a sat behind a stanchion that obstructed my view of 40% of the pitch! However, it was a great day of exploring Liverpool and talking with some friendly locals.

Times have changed and only a shock away win would make this fixture anything other than forgettable.
