I don't pick the team never try I did say not enough hearts in the team and we need woody in it. Proved that today as in the words of our manager no brainer I got that right
Not sure about Johansson but we looked more an unit at the back without Blackman. I'd like to see what Vickers can do. Olosunde why as it took this long to get him in the side? He's got everything for a championship full back, get his contract extended. Flo proved me wrong, he was quality when he came on especially for our winning goal. Wiles improved 2nd half but you can't have him & Crooks in the same side. Barlaser & Lindsay keep with them. Vassell not for me. Hirst needs to start. Ladapo know he missed that chance but he put a shift in up front. Wood did his job took his goal well but up against a speedy forward? + he can't play consecutive games Saturday, midweek.

You don’t half talk some crap Gwru we won with both Crooks and Wiles in the team there’s room for both of them for all your opposition about Wood the fact is we are a better team with him in it apart from the fact he offers a genuine goal threat (see yesterday!!) he’s a leader something we’re not blessed with when he doesn’t play he’s also a bloody good defender forget his age I honestly can’t remember any goal we’ve conceded this season being down to him yet
I agree he probably can’t manage to play all the games but he certainly doesn’t deserve dropping due to his form
I think it was Smiler who said you have to have a squad this season. I think he is correct, and we are showing that we have a decent squad to cope with injuries and fatigue. I have just read that in the near future we will play nine games in twenty seven days. That will test any squad. I agree that Wood will struggle to play consecutive games over a short period but when he comes in and he is 100% he is vital to us for leadership, reading the game and strong defending.
Crooks has an eye for goal when he is in form as he has showed many times. I hope he now produces the goods in the championship as he is a vital cog for us, as our forwards are not championship class imo so goals from elsewhere are vital for our safety in this division. I trust in Warne and co to shuffle the pack and keep us competitive. A long way to go but good times to be a miller.
I tend to agree with gwru surprise there after the international break we have 12 games to play up to Jan 2nd. I can't see woody lasting having to play match after match how many will. One big bonus from yesterday's game was Olosunde he looks a Championship player we looked a better team with him in the side also.
I think the experts are saying that in the top two divisions injuries are up about 40% on a normal season because of fixture congestion. The chances of picking up an injury when your body is fatigued increase rapidly and performance levels also dip. We have Ogbene, Shaun MacDonald and Robertson out long term and have Mattock and Blackman nursing injuries aswell. Not sure what the issue is with Sadlier, but he might now be another, and Ihiekwe seemed to be struggling too. We have a break now which is good news, but no doubt the whole squad will have a part to play. The idea that we or anyone else will have a settled side is a bit fanciful. I think we are seeing that we have a couple of players in the squad for almost every position who are about as good as each other, which is a good thing. Olosunde was very good yesterday as was Harding as a stand in left back. I am sure FloJo will be thrilled to be another in the long list of players to 'prove gwru wrong'. Being on gwru's list of rejects was probably keeping him awake at night. I couldnt help wondering what Smithy was thi king yesterday. Their centre forward was allowed by the ref to pull and push our defenders all afternoon and most weeks Smith gets pulled up for breathing too heavily.
Smith is penalised because he attempts to play the ball whereas other forwards tend to play the defender. This is still afoul but does not look as bad.
Ii thougbt johannson looked very comprised in goal took his chance with blackman injured. I wonder if he is coming back.
Yes crooks scored the winner.
We have two weeks to work on the 3 5 2 formation
Crooks Gwru? Thought you said he was not up to the standard is it because he scored?
Suppose if he doesn’t score next game he’ll be deemed crap again you really do know nowt
Did Vassell do a lot wrong yesterday? He didnt play as a second striker, he played in that space between the midfield and Ladapo. I thought he did it quite well. Maybe well enough to deserve another go at it.
Crooks now he's scored he'll want more, our forwards aren't exactly troubling the scoreboard! Vassell no different than before, surplus. I'm favouring 4-4-1-1 midfield ect... as I've said.
No, Smiler, Vassell didn't do a lot wrong yesterday, but he won't do anything to change the mind of the football genius that is gwru, no matter how well he plays.
I don't rate Vassell or Crooks not good enough for this league spend most of their time chasing shadows. Up front Hirst should play he will come good I don't pick the team is the present manager brave enough to back a player he has been after for a few seasons. He keeps playing flo there are signs that he might be coming good.
Definitely don't rate Vassell. Crooks we need goals & he looks to me from chances he gets he'll take a fair percentage of them. Saturday when Flo & Crooks were on got me thinking for 1st time this season we can stay up. I'd like to see what Vickers can do but Johansson didn't let us down. Olosunde get him on a new contract, he's quality. Rest of defence couldn't fault. Barlaser & Lindsay same. Wiles had a good 2nd half. Ladapo stuck at it. Hirst hopefully to come good. It's looking more optimistic than 3 days ago Luton game. UTM
