Team tonight v owls

This.is the match of the season so far. Warne had to be thinking outside the norm I agree we are playing much better than last time championship. But i believe 2 up front is the only way for us to score goals. Play 2 wingers get the ball down side and in. Basic yes but all.footballers play that from youth. We havent the superstars we have grafters so come on warne 2 strikers up.front and 2 proper wingers

I have removed the other thread. Start again. We have to try and find the combination to add goals to our good general play. For me, we are likely to stick with the same defence and central midfielders but shuffle the pack up the field. I would go with: Blackman; Harding, Ihiekwe, Wood, Mattock; MacDonald, Barlaser; Josefzoon, Wiles, Miller; Ladapo. Two genuine wide players. Wiles playing centrally and quite advanced and also sitting on Bannan when they have the ball. That is the selection I'm least sure about though. This might be the game when Crooks comes good. Ladapo hasnt been full of goals but he has looked the most likely. Our teams are difficult to predict because we have so many options that are all viable whether that is individuals or formation.

Ps I would love to think we could start with two up front and get at them, but I fear we would be murdered by any half decent championship team if we did. I think we would end up with two virtual spectators up front and get picked off. Each to their own though.

Whichever team that starts I’m confident we can be more than a match for them.

It’s the substitutions that worries me, if it’s fine after sixty minutes then we shouldn’t make changes for changes sake like we have been doing and ripping all the balance and understanding out of the side.

I thought you always liked players to play in their natural positions gwru? Yet you want to play a right back at left sided centre back?

Also if Sadlier is playing on the left, which of the 3 central midfielders are you playing out of position on the right, Lindsay?

Oh, and it's Johansson by the way.

Harding he's played before at centre back. Can't play Wood he's not up to this level now. Lindsay on right but Olosunde can get forward. Sadlier prefers to play on the left. Can't be no worse than the side at Reading.

I agree smiler but we arnt scoring goals So we have to play 3 5 2 or 4 4 1 1 With wingers play it to the wingers press high Wiles isnt a winger Warne has to stop.accomodimating players Crooks isnt upto it Try smith and hirst together He has to find an attacking format and fast

MacDonald and Barlaser would be the first two names on the teamsheet for me. Other than that, I'm happy for Mr Warne to select who he considers will give us the best chance of winning. Have a good feeling about tonight!

I’d go with Smiler’s team or something similar, though i doubt Warne will.

Blackman has had a few good games recently and i assume he’s first choice. The back four picks itself this week, as do SeanMcD and Barlaser.

The front 4 is hardest to select but i feel we need to keep the third midfielder as i’m not confident of us in a 4-4-2 at the moment (an in form Crooks would be essential to 4-4-2 i feel and at the moment he isn’t anywhere near his best).

Lindsay hasnt had a bad game but in my mind he’s a spoiler to play in the trickiest game and needs to be sacrificed for a more creative player today in Wiles who looks most likely to run with the ball or get a shot off.

In a 4-5-1 we need 2 wingers to run at the defence and support the striker. Miller and Jozefzoon then, though no problem if Sadlier plays. Pretty sure Warne will persist with Wiles out wide though.

Up front Smith was great with his back to goal 2 years ago but we’re competing in midfield at the minute and and need someone to get in goalscoring positions which Smith frustratingly doesn’t manage. Thought Ladapo unlucky to be left out last week but might be tempted to let Hirst play tonight against his former club. One of those 2 for me.

Really need a win. To have taken 3 points from 6 when playing well is worrying, but a win pulls us clear again.

Wish I had a good feeling about tonight, more of a sense of foreboding. This is not the most important game of the season so far HM, it's simply the most important game of the season period. If PW thought our performance at Reading was good & worthy of a point then we're in big trouble. We cannot sit back even & especially if we go in front & have to be in their faces for 100 minutes because you can guarantee if we're a goal up going into added time we'll get loads of injury time from nowhere. The players have to have it drilled into them how important this match is to the fans, I really couldn't bear it if we lost to them again........utm

Just about agree with that DKNY. I think Warne will play Wiles wide on the right and either Sadlier or Miller on the wide left. If Wednesday can pick their strongest team as i indicated earlier then i think we should go with Lindsay as the spoiler. I would also give a start for Hirst who will surely be fired up for this. I think Warne will go for Ladapo or Smith as the lone striker though and bring Hirst on if we are chasing the game.

The team i expect is

Blackman

Harding Ihiekwe Wood Mattock

McDonald Barlaser

Wiles Lindsay Miller

Ladapo.

My score prediction 0-1 sorry about that.

I'll ask the question again seeing as last time you ignored it and answered a different one that I'd never asked

What has Wood done wrong in the last two games?
