Norwich up next

Bit of a debut to forget for Jozefzoon, switched off for the ball going out to Aarons for the first and a erratic tackle for the penalty.

We were really good but masters of our own downfall again, we give away far too many late goals in this division and it will cost us like it did last time if we don’t address it.

Some good displays and more belief we will stop up.

It's a discussion about what was a good game with lots of incident, and you've already done your party piece - write a player off on day one and bleat on about a player who cant get a game anywhere in the football league. Move on.

We tell you different every single day but you never listen because you're thick as pig ****.

We were so unlucky today, I feared a pasting when I saw their line up but we've done really well. The defensive shape has clearly had a lot of time spent on it and we look so much better in the respect than last time we were in this league. We will pick up results this season I've no doubt.

I'm trying to be constructive not listen to Warney boy like you. We never learn. We had Taylor same as Flo not tall enough. Where's Olosunde? Can't keep wheeling Wood on. There was some good performances today. We are just lacking wide players with Ogbene injured.

Inept defending cost us that new player 1st impression not good enough. I am a results person playing well and losing not good enough for me. 2 tough away games to come next not expecting anything.

Has Warney shot a Robin? It's difficult to accept that we have been so close on so many occasions only to be pipped at the last. That said, great performances all round. MacDonald in midfield is immense - great control, excellent in the air and a great leader. He gave Barlaser the time and opportunity to shine and Crooks was obviously a lot more confident having his old midfield partner in the team. I thought both full backs had excellent games, so did the keeper apart from one fumble.

I'm still not convinced with Ladapo. Took his goal well but never confident that he will beat a player or distribute well. Can't understand why Barlaser didn't take the penalty. Ladapo's effort was pitiful.

On the whole, really pleased with the performance. The players will soon become accustomed to the style of this league and will realise that they can go toe to toe with any side.

Jozefzoon had no chance to show us what he could do as he was confined to defensive duties after MacDonald was sent off. Anyone who attempts to write off his ability on that showing lacks any appreciation of football.

TH OWL - your expectations of the next two games are similar to those on this forum expecting you to come out with a constructive comment.

You're never constructive. What's constructive about banging on about Lamy all the time? It just makes you look like a weirdo.

As for the Warney Boy thing, you're beyond pathetic.

At least ifollow has been 10 quid well spent for you and TH, you've both got to see what you want and you can enjoy your evening now.

Not interested in any comments by the Warney boys I just come on this site and put my point of view. Played well and lost means nothing if this club is going to to stop up. It's like groundhog day from 2 seasons ago same manager same result.

Don't rise to these two (more likely one) @@@@oles, I only come on now post match to read the sensible posts.
We went toe to toe with a side packed with expensive internationals & with more luck & less stupidity from Josefzoon & Angus McDonald we would have run out deserved winners.

I wouldnt be too harsh on the new winger. He was sent on at 1-0 up and within five minutes was one of ten men playing with his back to the wall. His tackle to give the penalty away was a split second instinctive challenge which was ill advised but understandable. Only a fool like gwru would judge a player on any first appearance.  Brad is right that his last minute challenge cost us, but yesterday was a freakish twenty five minutes as far as he is concerned.

Angus MacDonald has been great since coming in but his challenge was a real shocker and more difficult to forgive. You just can't tackle like that these days, and there was no need for it anyway on the halfway line. He had a proper rush of blood.

I didnt think Norwich were ordinary. I thought they were very good, but I thought for long periods we matched them. Its heartbreaking to get nothing from it but I think most supporters can see beyond the plain result and see that we went toe to toe with a very good side worth hundreds of millions and gave a very good account of ourselves in an entertaining game.

Good entertaining game. Some good football played by both sides. Unlucky to lose but there will be games where we were lucky to win (eg Wycombe). These are the players we have no more can come in or go out so we need to concentrate on what we have rather than wishing we had player who have been released back.

We are financially stable. Seem to be able to compete at this level and I have something to look forward to on a Saturday.

Just point out there are two teams on the pitch watch them both and enjoy.

We lost move on.

Macdonald was very harshly sent off, won the ball cleanly with a firm but fair solid challenge, the screams of the Norwich players made the refs mind up but sadly that’s the way football is these days. The player on the floor was absolutely fine and conned the ref also.

Just watched that tackle again by A Mac. I'd appeal. He won the ball fairly, follow through made it look worse.

What I saw was that he went in with two feet, out of control and studs showing. Whether we like it or not that is what the refs are told to look for. Yes, the Norwich player made a meal of it and yes they surrounded the ref quickly, but we would have done the same. It was on the halfway line. There was no need to challenge like that, but he had just taken a heavy touch and you do see players react after a heavy touch by lunging in. Of course he didn't mean to get a red card but with hindsight it was reckless.

Gutted for the lads yesterday. I’d echo Davidedin’s comment that it’s the best we’ve played for ages. Thoroughly enjoyed watching them play whilst still having that dread in the back of my mind that we’d somehow manage to blow it, which we did. Bit worried that we’re playing well and still dropping points, seems at the minute that playing out of our skins isn’t enough in this unforgiving league. But lets look at the positives - we’re still improving... Harding had his best game yet, Miller had his best game yet, Crooks finally looked like the player of last season, Ladapo looked at times like he may be able to lead the line, Barlaser is back and somehow he’s ours. And we have great strength in depth if we look who wasn’t starting today. Every reason to believe we can improve further (yes, improve on a performance i just described as our best for years). Surely, if we do, we’ll get the results we deserve. I have to also compliment the teams for producing such a great game to watch while playing in an empty stadium. And compliment Norwich for beating us fairly rather than repeating the shameful diving of 2 seasons ago. Couldn’t really fault the ref. The sending off was correct, their pen was correct. Perhaps his most dubious decision was the soft pen he gave us. Roll on Tuesday. We can go there and get something if we play like that again. Isn’t it nice to go into Championship away games with optimism?
