New signing tomorrow?

Evidently the Millers have agreed terms with Derby for the winger Florian Jozefzoon on a season long loan. Anyone heard anything, sounds like it could be decent signing if true.

Gru has already decreed that he is rubbish. He's actually taken the time to Google him, for 90 seconds, which is all it takes, apparently Plus he's 29. Not worth a 10 year contract

Apparently it is set to be announced tomorrow.

I don't know the player, but he has some pedigree. He is a product of the Ajax youth set-up and in this country was successful at Brentford (hence he will be well known to our Head of Recruitment) and was signed by Derby from there for about £2.5m. He has about 100 Championship appearances under his belt.

Jozefzoon is reported to be a naturally wide player, where we have a need now given Ogbene's injury. Apparently he is out of favour with the current manager at Derby, Cocu, and wants to get out and play first team football.

I am not sure what is not to like about this potential signing, but as TC says Gru has already been critical of it on the basis of his age insofar as I can understand his ramblings. Quite why a 29 year old can't do a job for us on a season long loan I'm not sure, but there we are.

Good pedigree with Ajax and PSV on his CV. Did very well at Brentford and moved to Derby for a decent fee (Turning Leeds down in the process) but seems to have lost his way a bit recently. On paper he looks like he could be a very useful signing for us. If he does sign, let's give him more than 90 seconds eh?

When was the last time he played? I smell a rat! Another Adelakun or Koroma & they were younger.

He last played a league game in July, he played 3 games for Derby after the restart.

You do realise that if he was playing every week for them they probably wouldn't be willing to loan him out? That's usually how it works.

If he can get back to his best at Brentford this could be an really good signing.

Fair play to TS for backing the manager as he won't be on peanuts at Derby and even paying a percentage of his wage will take a fair lump of cash up.

Tilt could be going out on loan what a great singing he proved to be. A little bird has informed me we now take all day to check on a players fitness instead of one hour. Some of you on this site were doing the same as now banging on about him being a great signing. I know absolutely nothing about this potential new signing I will run my analytical eye ( the good one ) over him in due course if he signs.

I have seen you use this same criticism on MillersMad Gru - that this player hasn't played for a while so will take too long to get up to speed.

I have also seen that your solution to our need for a wide player is to re-sign Julien Lamy, who is still a free agent having failed so far to secure a deal with anyone.

Would that be the same Julien Lamy who last played in a competitive game of football in mid-February?  Whereas Jozefzoon has played three times for Derby since the resumption in July?  The same Julien Lamy who tore a hamstring against Parkgate in a pre-season friendly days after joining us last time?

This from Gru who also opined that we have to sign players who are proven to be 'good enough for the Champ'.  You want us to reject a 29 year old with 100 Championship appearances signed by one Championship club from another for £2.5m and instead sign a player who has only ever started one game in league football and been rejected by several league One clubs as not good enough.

You couldn't make it up.  Except that you do.

Reason Lamy never got a chance here was our manager. Instead he brought two no-hopers in Adelakun & Koroma. Hope Lamy gets a club to get a chance, he's got the ability. Our potential new signing know nothing about him, never heard of him but at his age he's peaked it's only downhill from there. Going on twitter a Derby fan said he's useless, that's from someone whose seen him. Warney he's like Southgate plays it safe won't give talent a chance in the formers case: Grealish.

I saw Lamy play more than you gusw and he was useless - a boy in a man's game. My opinion has been supported by every other UK football manager, none of whom have seen sufficient potential to sign him. On the basis of this evidence, which is far more extensive than your 'one Derby fan', please feel free to admit that you are wrong. By the way, how are your boys doing down at S6?

Gwru, focus for a moment. You said we have to sign players proven at Championship level. You said we have to sign players who are match fit. Option 1 is a 29 year old who has played for Ajax, PSV, and then 100 times in the Championship. He commanded a fee of £2.5m quite recently and played in the Championship as recently as July. Option 2 is young man who has only ever started one game in league football, which was a 5-0 defeat in League One, hasnt played at all since February and has been passed on by a succession of League One managers. Despite your own criteria, you want to go for Option 2. Simple question - do you see how stupid that is?

S6? I know what I saw with Lamy. Not bothered what anyone else thinks. He weren't a hopeless case like some we have here. Vassell for one. Tilt another. There's more for championship football.

Ironically Glenn, the only UK manager to give Lamy a contract is Paul Warne, who did see some potential and gave the lad 12 months to prove himself.  He also got the lad a chance to play at Wimbledon by recommending him to Nicky Daws.  Gwru blames Warne for Lamys lack of progress.  One day, when Lamy back in French semi pro football, Gwru might realise that Warne was the only manager who had the courage to have a punt on Lamy and that ultimately Lamy like Bailey-King, Akeem Hinds and others before him was not quite good enough.

Apologies to all for veering off topic.

Is that the same Southgate who has given several young players their England debut in the last week alone?  You don't half make yourself look daft gwru.

Also, your Lamy obsession has always looked ridiculous, now it's actually starting to look a bit creepy. Pack it in.

I look forward to see him playing, dunno if it's too soon for Saturday.

I'm sure Barlaser will start, so will be good to see him too.

Southgate see what side he puts out when England get to the Finals. Grealish makes things happen. Don't like Rashford playing on the left. Lamy I hope gets a club before transfer window closes, he's a talent. Will give new signing a chance, never seen him play. No left back signing for cover. Will have to play Olosunde there if needed, best option. Thought Vassell would be gone & another forward in.

How many times are you going to say that about Vassell and left backs? You don't have to mention it in every post you make you know, we heard you the first time, we heard you the 500th time, it's boring.

Most of us don't respect your opinion though, we think you talk a load of sh*te. You're nearly always proven to be wrong as well.
