Birmingham Post Match Thoughts

We look a well organised outfit. People will always pick their starting elevens but the games will come thick and fast and I think he has got a squad together where he can leave players out like Lindsay who hasnt done much wrong and bring Wiles in, Miller for Sadlier etc and we dont lose anything. We have to work very hard so I think that is important to keep players fresh. We deserved the point today. I thought their penalty was dodgy at best. I am not sure he would have given theirs if we hadn't just had one. S McDonald outstanding again. Good job for gwru that they equalised or bis pre-match ' Warne has got it wrong, old pals act, nothing to come' comments would have looked even more stupid than they already do. This is a team that we should all be able to get behind. We are doing plenty right against the odds. Proud to be a Miller.

Watched the match on iFollow and I'm just not feeling it. No crowd, no buzz around the ground and no happy clapping.
Late drama with a penalty awarded to each team by the referee. Blackman played well in goal. Wiles was outstanding. Smith could have been better utilised when he came on to the pitch. Sure we held our own and we don't look out of place in the Championship up to now but I suppose we are living and working through an unusual time in our history.

UTM!

Watched it on I follow. Game of few chances. Their pen Jones gave ref option of giving it but you win, lose or draw together. Nobody had a bad game. S McDonald one of our better players on the day with Wiles. 4 pts out of 3 games carry on with that would give us 60pts with a game to spare. UTM

Didn't see the game today, but happy enough with a the draw. A point away from home is not to be sniffed at I don't think we're doing too much wrong: a win first game a loss against Millwall due to a fluke and a draw today is,I think a reasonable return so far, considering the number of new players yet to gel. So far so good from me.

I thought we excellent first half. Warney put out an exciting line up who were definitely there for 3 points. Birmingham upped their game in the second half and we were wasteful - particularly from throw-ins. How come every other side appear to have lots of options from throws and we lose the ball more often than not!?

I think every Rotherham player put a shift in. Brum played much of their football in their own half due to the chasing down by our guys.

Miller looks like a great signing. Very tricky, a good left foot and delivers a very decent cross. Anyone who had any doubts about the value of Jones should doff their cap to PW. Very steady and very unlucky with the weak penalty decision. A real asset to the squad.

If that's how the 'old pals act' performs, bring on more please!

Final thing - the lack of crowds has taken the home advantage away from games. Every game is there to be won - it's a level playing field.

Difference today we played higher up the pitch. They all put in a shift but I thought Wiles had that bit of quality as I have said before best player in the squad. The ref evened things up with their penalty every time they fell on the floor he blew his whistle.

VERY soft Pen for them... we rely on officials that constantly let us down... I think adopting Rugby style TMO is the way to go, including using the actual TMO rugby officials who cannot POSSIBLY be worse than the dire ****e we get in the EFL....

But a) great point and b) love the fact all replies on this thread are relevant and measured

UTM...

A quick look at BCFCs main forum suggests that none of their supporters had an issue with our penalty award, but they thought their penalty was very soft. Jones perhaps shouldn't have dangled a foot in but their player definitely looked for it and went down very easily. That is frustrating but on balance a point apiece was probably a fair reflection of the game, and that shows that we are heading in the right direction. I also like that rather than being grateful for the point, Warne said post match that our players are better than they think they are, and he is disappointed not to have more points in the bank. We are looking to try and really be competitive.

A very good performance today and I think it says a lot that we're probably disappointed to only come away with a point when I think a lot of us would have taken it before kick off. I personally think it was penalty to them, and there was no need for Jones to give the Ref the chance to even things up. Take nothing away from the performance today, everyone in the team did well overall. Wiles was probably my man of the match but there were several contenders. Blackman still doesn't fill me with confidence yet but I wonder if I'm still letting the Salford game cloud my judgement, I'm possibly being a bit harsh on him. If we play like that every week we'll be fine.

Agree with Davidedin about it being nice to see all replies on this thread are relevant and measured. Surprising, but refreshing nonetheless. Hopefully that continues throughout the season.

Very pleased today, shame about the soft penalty conceded but a point at St Andrews is a good one. Shaun McDonald is like having a new signing, absolutely outstanding today.

More than deserved our point.

Seen Birmingham managers comments about them being much better than us second half, not sure I agree with it they probably just about edged it as we did in the first.
