No cutting edge today, didn't deserve to lose. Apart from mistake for their goal our defence coped ok. Midfield defensively ok. Ogbene had a good 2nd H. Up front not much of a threat. Do we give George Hirst a few games to get up to speed? When we going to see Miller? Wiles & Crooks didn't change anything. Still say Sadlier would be better in an attacking midfield role.

Poor game by both sides We lack any creativity in midfield Too many times we just hoofed it hoping for best. Any striker not getting service in box is going to look disinterested

I thought we were just about the better side in a tight game. Just missing that bit of quality needed to get the first goal when we were on top. One bad mistake was the difference and after that we huffed and puffed but to no avail. Overall as Brad says a disappointing result but plenty of cause for optimism that we can be competitive in this division.

He's so predictable Warney. It's like he'll always play certain players cause he can't make tough decisions. Knew he'd start with Ladapo who did same as 1st game, nothing. Then he brings Wiles & Crooks on both made no difference. His bench same old pals act hardly any defensive cover. A manager should be impartial. Pick match squad best for the club.

We've been over this before gwru so dont bother answering, but just ask yourself why the hell our manager would set out to deliberately damage our chances and potentially his own career. What you fail to comprehend is that you dont actually know best (or indeed know much at all). Just because Warne doesnt pick the same eleven that you would pick doesnt mean he is sabotaging us to look after his 'mates'. Do you understand that? There were players left out of the starting eleven today who you have labelled 'Warneys Boys' in the past. Please stop talking out of your arse.

smiler tell me then why Miller can't get on whose left sided. The 3 strikers our manager has brought in only Smith just for his height & strength possible can do a job in the championship. His bench no cover at full back.

Why can't the manager say we were poor he has to take responsibility for that performance that is what he is paid for.

The most significant thing about today was that we matched a side who finished just outside the play-offs last season. In the last two Championship seasons, we've watched RUFC struggle to get hold of the ball and keep it. For large parts of today, we knocked it around confidently and were equal to Millwall all around the pitch.

We need a bit of creative quality in midfield and I hope that John Breckin's repeated assertion that we'd be bringing someone in this week means that Dan Barlaser is on his way back. Up front, I'm afraid Lapado doesn't do it for me. His first touch is poor and I don't see him as a Championship striker. I liked the look of Hirst and I think he could work well up front with Smith.

Defensively we were sound but I'd like to see a bit more quality in Harding's distribution - he's got potential though. McDonald in midfield is a revelation and appears to have regained his fitness and his mojo.

We're not far off having a good Championship side and there are already a handful of clubs looking as if they are going to struggle this season.

Finally, after last week's debacle, ifollow was really good today.

Onwards and upwards!

Because we weren't poor. We weren't great but we weren't poor. We were arguably better than a Millwall side who finished in the top half last season. Its disappointing to have lost but anybody with half a football brain would be able to look at that game today and take plenty of positives from it. Or perhaps not given that you two seem to have half each of the same brain. Gwru, is Miller fit? How has he been doing in training? You're obviously in the know. He has obviously turned you around with his work in training given that you hammered his signing as a step in the wrong direction.

How do you think Sean 'get rid of him' MacDonald played gwru? Arguably the man of the match for me. Or did he only play because he's Warney's mate?

...What he said

Deffo Hirst to start for Freddy if we play 2 up front again.

Also thought Lindsey was good again, but would have Crooks instead of McDonald, just a bit more creative and forward looking.. McDonald did nothing wrong as such.

Refs same quality as LG1, fall for every trick in the book and we have to learn to play the same way at this level - it's clear that falling down if someone breathes on you is now always rewarded by refs with a free kick (unless it's Smith in which case you need to cripple him before the ref notices).. we have to learn that lesson.

Football is a results business I know some of you find it hard to comprehend we were not great today we lost not good enough to stop up if we continue to play like that.

TH he's right. What Warney says post match " there was two good teams out there " . Where? MIllwall were nothing sparkling. We only had Ogbene a threat to them 2nd H. Warney he's banking on Barlaser to make the difference. Hope we get to see if he can.

It's not just black and white though, it's just lose=bad=sack manager with you, no matter what the performance or who the opposition is, but you'd need a bit of intelligence to see that. I should cut you a bit of slack really as it's probably all a bit too much for you to comprehend.

The only thing that would make you and TH happy is if he came out and said 'we're a bag of sh*t and I want sacking.'

I never said sack the manager all I am saying is why couldn't he admit we were not at our best today. Instead of of trotting the young Mr Grace impression "you have all done very well" I could live with that.

'Nothing changes Warney gets a new contract or is it con trick still serving the same old tripe.'

Would I be right in thinking that you don't think he should have got a new contract and also that you don't think he should be manager based on that comment?
