Huddersfield TownΒ have confirmed that manager Danny Cowley has been sacked despite all but securing the club's Championship survival on Friday night.

The 41-year-old and assistant, brother Nicky, will leave the Terriers immediately.
The pair took over from Jan Siewert in September but have won just 13 of their 40 games, with Huddersfield yet to mathematically secure safety in the Championship.

We limped down last season well before the last game but Warney boys rule on here. Giving Jones a new contract says to me be same again. Luton & Barnsley are going out fighting.
Uddersfield chairman has been secretly viewing this site, and is obviously seriously seeking to appoint 2 of our regular repeating loosely termed contributors. One as manager, 'ther as a number 2!! Already worked out no green tea needed, all players over 18 ready to be shown the door, no bonding required. Chairman ready to listen to the same old, same old, over and over and over ππππ
Come on Warney boys tell me different! I know we work to a budget but giving Jones another contract just a waste of a wage. If I'm proved wrong I'll admit to it. Slate it's wiped clean start of next season. Prove me wrong.
Whether we like it or not football is a result business it does not live in the warney bubble. Not all chairman are as understanding as ours we have gone up but it it is up to him to improve on the last two season's we were in the championship. I do not want to go to games where teams are picking up an easy three points. If he can't deliver get someone in who can.
We were promoted or as my drinking buddies said by default up to Warney to take advantage of the situation. I just want to see my team having a go at some of the big team's.
