Wigan Administration

Slightly out of the blue but Wigan have just announced they have gone into administration and are looking for new owners to buy the club.

Not sure where it leaves them regarding points deductions and if it would come into effect this season or the start of next.

Sure I've read this right. If Wigan finish outside of the bottom 3 this season the 12 pt deduction will be applied. Finish in the bottom 3 next season applied. Could be good news for Barnsley.

Yes that's right.

The new owners only took over four weeks ago. Appreciate clubs will be losing a fortune behind closed doors due to COVID but how did they manage to pass the fit and proper checks?

What has been reported no one is sure whether the 12 points deduction is this season or next. Might be the first of a few team's in a mess in this league.

It tells you read my post. Basically if Wigan finish 13 pts clear of the bottom 3 or even 12 pts clear with a better goal difference than the 3 sides below them pts reduction doesn't matter.

Rick Parry has been filmed talking about rumours of the Wigan owners having big money back in Asia on the club to be relegated from the championship.

What a mess if true.

If they survive this season in spite of the deduction it should be held back until next season and applied from the off.

Took you a bit of time to work that one out in the millers interest if the points deduction is next season.

I don't wish Administration on anyone, we've been there.

BUT... if we sell Yates and Wigan do go down, they will need money, plus some players won't like being in League 1, so my view would be to put in a late bid for Keifer.... maybe £750k would buy him given their cir***stances, assuming we could afford his wages within our idea of what we are prepared to pay.

By 'Late' I mean keep our powder dry until near the end of the transfer market (if there is one)so someone else doesn't bid the extra 50p and pinch him, like Bransley did in the past...

Combining any two of Ladapo/Smith/Moore .. with others backing them up, in my opnion would be enough to keep us up and be very exciting.

Keep safe..

Looking a bit grim for Wigan they are going to court over the 12 points deduction as I have said I would have preferred the points taken off next season. Might be worth a cheeky punt for Keifer when teams are relegated players are only loyal to their wallets as we found out when we went down all of this good human beings is a load of old tripe.

Wouldn't want Kieffer Moore back at the NYS. He left us and made his bed at Oakwell before becoming a journeyman. Other quality players will soon become available. They will jump at the chance of playing Championship football with us.

If Luton get a result on Wednesday could send Wigan down with points deduction they seem to have picked some form in these last few matches. Take a note Mr Warne you don't have to be scared of the team's in the championship. WBA should go up after today's result and Cardiff play Hull in their last game. Hope our two ex players end up in the prem should be some extra money with add ons help with the financial situation caused with this virus.

Well done Barnsley and Luton it can be done. I do not want to see lacklustre performances as we did in the last two seasons we had in the championship. I know it will not be easy just give me something to cheer. The reason I am no warney fan I just can't see how he can deliver I will be very happy if I am proved wrong.

Been reported Wigan manager leaving to become Bristol City manager. Warnies name been mentioned as a possible replacement I would not go to a club in the situation they are in at the moment. Looks as if the rats are deserting the sinking ship. We have been there it is the supporters who are the backbone of the club they got Wimbledon back on their feet Bury fans are trying to do the same. Reminder to any season ticket holders you have until this Friday to decide what you want to do with the money from the six games we missed last season it is on an online survey. I have decided to let the club keep the money did it yesterday up to each individual what they want to with their money UTM.
