I don't think Peterborough's opinions carry much weight in the world of football right now.

Peterborough have a track record of selling strikers for big money, He's going nowhere for 650 grand.

I don't understand we nearly we nearly got it right anchored in the bottom 3 nearly all season pathetic January transfer window warney walking round like young Mr Grace in Are you being served kept saying " you are all doing very well ". When Warnock was here got hold of the players 110% out of them get that I'm a happy puppy.

We were massive favourites with all of the bookies and pundits to finish bottom. We were relegated in the penultimate game of the season after a very unfortunate and unjust defeat at West Brom, and in the end by four points. If you dont understand the concept of that being a near miss, I can't belp you. If you dont think they all gave it 110% you can't have been watching. Instead of criticising at every opportunity, why dont you give us some positive ideas? Or is 'try harder' the extent of your insight?

Our budget that season was the lowest in the league, almost half that of the team with the second lowest budget. Logic suggests we should've finished bottom and by some distance, yet we didn't. You seem to think anything other than being comfortably safe was an abject failure. What are you basing that on?

Both Warnock and Evans kept us up I call it success if that happens next season.

Common sense will get you nowhere RealMiller.

You can point out as well if you like that after seeing Evans and Stubbs burn a lot of money and after letting Warnock spend a lot of money to get experienced players in to aid our fight for survival (never mind the bonus paid to the man himself) Tony Stewart was either unable or unwilling to give Warne a budget that was anything like as competitive as his predecessors had enjoyed, so Warne's job was that much more difficult.

I keenly look forward to seeing what THMiller will have to say, but with no great expectation of it making any sense. I think it is as simple as this: if you stay up you have done well and if not you have failed. No logic. No context. No realism.

Let's see.

About the only criticism I have of Tony Stewart is that he does sometimes big up our Championship prospects. I get the need to be positive and I get that you have to ambition, but he has spoken in previous pre-seasons about being mid-table looking up and even of challenging for promotion to the Premier League. They are nice ambitions to have, but they are not really achievable goals unless the basics are in place to help make it happen and in modern football that usually involves money. That of itself is no dig at the man, who has done a heroic job. Managing expectation is important. I dont think many would mind if the Chairman said that we are likely to have a budget that is a fraction of most of our competitors and it will be difficult, but that we are going to do what we can and give it our best shot. Anyone who needs reminding how difficult it is, have look at the current Championship table and you will see that the bottom three places are occupied by the three teams who went up from League One last season.

I agree with that Smiler, I think TS made a rod for his own back with his 'we shop at Harrods' comments, which we clearly don't. I think this ramped up expectations to unrealistic levels from some fans.

I didn't realise J Yates was out of contract, but Warney loaned him out so many times I don't think he'd be offered a new contract... good luck to him though.

I do think we've done much better lately in the transfers we've brought in - so whilst big clubs have massive budgets compared to us - effort and team spirit DOES count for a lot.. so I'm going to enjoy next season nomatter what and do think we will get a few good 'uns in.. I've no idea who though.

Like soemone else said, looking fwd to seeing Ogbene take on some of the full backs in the Championship, I think he'll love it, plus Freddy too, I fancy he will shine - some good players in our squad already..

Yates has a one year extension in his contract.

If Sunderland, Blackpool and Swindon have genuine interest id be taking that option up and getting some money for him.

Warney boys on here. If we fail again next season & are back down to league 1 surely we've got to change manager else there's no incentive to keep us up. Recruitment this time got to get it right.

Smiler, you really are wasting your time with Gwru and T.H. Just let them get on with it. Here's one for you Gwru. Just before Sunderland signed up Parkinson you were championing him for us. Take a look on the Sunderland forum. They think he is next to useless and want him on gardening leave. A lot better than that green tea drinker Warney though isn't he.

Let's get this right vast majority on here all they want to do is yo yo between League 1 & the championship keeping the Warney boys together. I think progressive not standing still.

People point real facts out to you gwru and you happily ignore or gloss over them.

As for your 'no incentive' statement, it is typically idiotic.  Maybe in your world it was a case of 'do your job or face the sack'. Ultimately all football managers are vulnerable these days.  Warne knows that.  He has said it many times.  Why you think he is above the sack I don't know.  He is still our manager because he has done a consistently good job.  But in any case what about:

(1) his financial bonus for keeping us up;

(2) professional pride,

(3) his obviously genuine love of the club; and

(4) his own improved career prospects if he does well.

There are four good 'incentives' for a start.  Do they count for anything?

When has anybody said that?

And as for the 'Warney boys' thing, grow up.
