Promotion Day?

Meeting underway to discuss the proposals on offer (Tranmere, play on etc)

Then another meeting later once they've voted on which proposals to go with. All a bit having meetings for meetings sake but we should know one way or the other at tea time hopefully.

Looking at the proposals on the table and intentions to vote posted elsewhere, i would say it is promotion day.

Looking good, subject to 2nd Vote later, but original PPG applies - so we should be having a beer or 6 later!!! (hopefully):

"Following a vote on each by all 71 Clubs, it was overwhelmingly agreed (by a majority of all Clubs and a majority in the Championship) to adopt the EFL Board’s proposal into EFL Regulations, which now means the following applies in the event a division curtails its 2019/20 season or it is ended by any other means.

1. Final divisional placings will be determined on unweighted points per game (if required).
2. Promotion and relegation should be retained.
3. Play-Offs will be played in all cir***stances but will not be extended (beyond four teams).

Clubs in Leagues One and Two will now meet by division later today to formally determine whether to resume playing the 2019/20 season or opt for curtailment. The Championship Clubs restart their season on 20 June."

Good to have a little bit more certainty, although when the new season will start and what the format will look like who knows?

It isn't an ideal way to round the season off, but all the same we were the second best side in the league over three quarters of the season and were in the top two for a good while towards the end. We gave two or three of the top sides a pasting along the way, notably Coventry (congratulations to them) and Peterborough at home and Oxford and Ipswich away where we dominated sides who were up at the top at the time. Also Ipswich at home, which to my mind was the best performance of the season although we only won it 1-0.

The unusual outcome shouldn't take anything away from the staff and players who have all been a credit to themselves and the club.

There is still plenty to worry about and I don't envy the club the task of fixing a budget and assembling a competitive squad of players. It is still a right old mess, but onwards and upwards we go!

Me I'd get Clough or Barton in as new manager. Can't stand still. Warney had his chance last time but couldn't keep us up with better players like Ajayi & Vaulks here then. TC I was in Millmoor Inn 81 promotion season it was rocking!
