What do you base your professional assessment of Curtis Tilt on?

I smell a rat: Tilt. 29 in August with 3 years left on his contract with us, doesn't sit right with me at that age. Was injured when we signed him last I heard he still in the sick bay along with long termers like Ihiekwe & Robertson. Jones & Mcdonald know the ropes in there will put Tilt right.

Right. So your usual preconceived guff.

And you still know more than Paul Warne?

Would you present yourself as well to the press?

The thing is that I made a simple point that we might have a bit of bonus and much needed revenue on the horizon and you gwru take that as a cue to pile in with the usual tripe. I half imagine a scene in which a telesalesman phones you up to push new fascia and guttering and ends up desperate to get off the phone after you launch into your standard pieces about Jonno, Potter, Bailey-King and Warneys Boys.

The point gwru is making about Tilt what have we seen I have not seen him play saw him leaning against the home dugout at the last home game. The last away game he limped off after about twenty minutes the omens are not looking good. Another of warneys great signings we have to keep relying on Woody who signed him my old mate Steve Evans.

Yes at this time any add ons we can get are welcome but TS he's got to rein Warney in tell no more sick notes such as Potter, Jones & Macdonald. Tilt could possibly be another. Chairman says he runs a tight ship paying wages for being in the sick bay the majority of the time with us isn't. Wood yes credit to him he's kept fit but he's ready now to be put out to grass.

Back on 'Will we get promoted or not?' track... I'm feeling nervous, a bit like waiting for final results to come through on the last day of the season when you are one point clear of third and need results to go in your favour to go up...

I'm spending hours on twitter, Google, BBC etc. looking at the latest news and on what will happen. Even in times like this it's never easy being a Miller is it, we always seem to get everything done the hard way, it's been that way for as long as I can remember, with a very few exception seasons...

From the latest news/tweets, it Seems that a 'null and void' season is not an option because the FA have deemed Promotion and Relegation needs to happen, and that will be strengthened further if the PL accept 3 teams will come up from the Champ. and 3 teams go down.

it also seems like the season won't be played out in L1 & L2 because it will be too expensive for clubs to stage games without the income of crowds & many other reasons (like the cost & logistics of testing players & staff at the scale needed)

So it leaves us with the final question around how they will decide Promotion and Relegation. Most of the options I've read see us promoted.

So the latest cause of my nervousness is that I've read a few threads that suggest the final method of placings might go to a vote by clubs, rather than the EFL dictating what happens (This would be an easy cop-out for the EFL). If it goes to a vote I can't see enough clubs agreeing to PPG etc as they will want to take the chance to try to look after their own interests and even for spite (If my club can't have the chance to go up, why should I vote for yours..) ... So I just hope the EFL have the guts to Impose something rather than let it drag on and allow clubs to argue the toss..

Anyway, we are likely to know more after the meetings planned for today and tomorrow.

Fingers crossed guys !!!

As I’ve said before this is purely my view about football and the Millers, obviously I care more about us all being safe and beating this virus – so stay safe (and your families) guys..

From a football point of view I couldnt care less which division we get put in. I'm not really interested in football at the moment. My only football related concern is that there is still a Rotherham United to watch when the crisis is over. If going up will help fill the financial hole in the accounts caused by this crisis then I want it to happen. As i understand it the only losers on the points per game vs as you finished scenario are Peterborough and the only winners are Wycombe. The clubs in 1st and 2nd will obviously vote for promotion. The clubs in the playoff places will vote the same way to retain a crack at it. It only needs a few of the rest to agree out of a sense of fairness to make it a majority. I think ppg is the fairest and most likely outcome and Peterborough will have to suck it up. If that is agreed by vote their threatened challenge will be a flimsy one doomed to fail (imo).

Been reading BBC sports: promotion/relegation by ppg. Mentions Weighted ppg which incl' both home & away ppg which I favour. Fairer.

Norwich are saying scrap relegation if the premiership restarts & the championship doesn't. There's a simple answer to that end the season in both the premiership & EFL.

Has anyone consulted with all the football clubs? All the coaches, managers and players in the Premier League and EFL? How many clubs will have a fully fit squad of players who are ready to play? How will players have managed to maintain physical and the all important match fitness? I'd say it would be very difficult for any team to build up a head of steam and win many of the remaining games. The momentum passed months ago. It would become a lottery. PPG would be a better way of settling the outcome particularly in the EFL.

It is my opinion that promotion should be determined not by the current league table, but by the form table over that last six games, which would put Rotherham in 10th position, which is far more realistic, since they were dropping like a stone. That would also mean that the incompetent Paul Warne, who doesn't understand the game as well as a couple of posters on here' wouldn't have another promotion on his C.V. and that the Millers fans won't have to endure getting thrashed every week in The Championship.

Can I take my tongue out of my cheek now?

Well it’s looking promising for promotion on however ‘sporting merit’ is decided. On current standings we go up, on ppg we go up, on weighted ppg we go up. We have spent 4 of the last 5 seasons in the championship and been promoted in each of our last 3 seasons outside the championship. So... I’m preparing myself for the sporting merit measurement being based on current points multiplied by how many FA cups have you won, with Sunderland Portsmouth and Bolton promoted.

If it was down to clean sheets over the games played so far in 2019/20 season plus PPG in League 1 then Coventry would be worthy champions.

Latest EFL statement - spolier alert... it is a set of words that actually says ****-all :

"The EFL Board has met today to further consider the many complex financial and operational matters resulting out of the COVID-19 crisis, including how the 2019/20 campaign is concluded

While there is much debate and discussion taking place publicly and privately regarding what should, or could, happen next, the EFL will continue to undertake consultation with our members before the next steps are determined.

Current attention is clearly on the immediate next steps, but the long-term impact on the League and its Clubs remains as stark as previously outlined, and solutions are still required to fill the financial hole left by the crisis. The consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic will not be rectified simply by a return to play behind closed doors.

In addition, the EFL is mindful of the pressing need for clarity in a number of areas, including the practicalities and timeframes of Clubs being able to facilitate a return to training. To address this, Clubs have today been issued with the latest draft of the EFL’s ‘Return to Training Protocols’, so that they can prepare appropriately.

However, until all outstanding matters are concluded, including finalising a comprehensive testing programme on matchdays and non-matchdays, the EFL Board has informed its Clubs that a return to training should not take place until 25 May at the earliest.

Dialogue continues with our colleagues across the footballing and political landscape regarding these and other issues, and the EFL is committed to keeping all relevant parties updated on key decisions and developments as they occur."
