You repeated it again Hillsborough in this post that you thought Crooks had a nightmare. I thought that meant you had seen the game. Fair enough taking your information from Mr Moore. He knows a million times more than what i Know.

I couldn't go on Tuesday. The commentary gave the impression that in the second half Crooks got caught in possession a couple of times in bad areas of the pitch, putting us under immediate pressure. Ronnie did say Crooks was 'having a mare'. Whether he meant overall or just in those instances, I can't say.
I know Crooks scores goals but loses ball too much for me. Lindsay everytime in for him who can score goals but plays deeper for us. As I've said time to get him in tomorrow he's got something to prove, I'm confident he will. I've always wanted him & Barlaser in the same side, that will have to wait. Wide left still our problem. Time of season now to play best players in their position. Hoping Koroma is ready if not Hillsborough might have come up with the best option if not ideal, play Vassell there. Side tomorrow Iversen; Olosunde Ihiekwe Wood or Tilt Mattock; Ogbene Lindsay Wiles or Crooks Koroma or Vassell; Smith Ladapo.

We need Crooks in there getting forwards. In his career Lindsay has scored 8 goals in about just over 150 games in senior football. That is 2 or 3 a season. I like Lindsay a lot, but I haven't seen any real evidence that he has many goals in him. Crooks in averaging 1 in 4 this season. That is a valuable contribution. He also wins a lot of ball for us with his size and power.
If Crooks is fit then he starts for me in central midfield. Who partners him is the question. I have no preference between McDonald and Lindsay. In fact they would probably both have to play a part because neither are match fit and good for 90 minutes. I think McDonald has had a lot of unfair criticism. To me he looks like a very good player who hasn't managed to get up to speed for one reason or another. I think he may yet have a valuable contribution to make.
I don't personally see Wiles as a deep lying midfielder.
Slightly off topic, but anyone know what the latest is on Barlaser' injury???
Hot from the tizer. 1st scan showed no ligament damage. On one side some swelling, waiting for that to go down so he can be reassessed. Forecast out for no longer than 10 days.
I said i wouldn't get into discussions on opinions anymore as i feel this site is getting a bit tedious with the same old points. I am probably guilty of this.
Crooks is a big unit in the middle of the park, gets forward and gets valuable goals. I accept he gave the ball away in the second half against Coventry but in the first half he was a big part in the power and getting them on the back foot. McDonald lacks at least a yard of pace in my opinion, he is neat and gets a foot in but i fear his best days are well behind him. Lindsay can and has played in the holding role and i think he is an obvious choice to take the place of Barlaser. On the left i would go with either Adelakun or Wiles. I would play Vassell as one of the front two and would like to see him in tomorrow but feel Ladapo will keep his place. Keep the back four the same as all of them had very good games against Coventry. I use to think Wood couldn't manage three games in a short space but he seems to be managing it well in Division one.
Wind, sleet, snow and some rain won't stop us from giving another good account of ourselves against what I see as tricky opposition. Keep the ball on the deck as often as is humanly possible. That way we might have a chance of bagging another three points. Players still not obliged to wear face masks just yet.
Yes a couple. See whose right tomorrow. See what side we start with. Portsmouth won tonight so need to be at our best from now onwards for the rest of this season.
Gwru, I would refer you back to my post before the Coventry game on this point for the full explanation. Unless the game is played twice in parallel universes, we will not in fact 'see whose (sic) right' at all. But don't let reality get in the way of your strange fantasy world. Keep Talking Sh1te and Carry On.
gwru is right left side of the team has been poor. Even the tizer has given no 14 poor marks constantly. The good news is Mattock looks as if he is getting back to some kind of fitness. I hope today we get a good win automatic promotion is there for the taking. Message for Mr TC no supporters no club players managers other staff are paid employees. This club will be there long after they have gone.
smiler If we are going to go up automatic we won't do it bodging up. We've got the squad to do it but no more making do. If Koroma isn't ready play Vassell on the left or switch Ogbene there. Lindsay to start today but would say that's uncertain with our manager.
Vassell is a no go for me on the left. We have tried him there many times and although he puts a shift in he looks a totally different player as one of two strikers. Koroma should now be up to pace so is an option but i think he will be used as a substitute.
whiston01 if you say it's a no for Vassell on the left that will do for me. Unless Koroma is ready only option I can see is switching Ogbene to the left. You can play Wiles on the right, he's got Olosunde to back him up.
