MK Don's gave Pompey a real game last night only losing to an injury time winner. They also had 65% of play and matched Pompey for shots on target. That was the first game they've lost for 5 games - so it's not gong to be a cakewalk.

The key question is who will replace Barlaser in midfield? It has to be a creative player and Lindsay doesn't fit that bill. Wiles would be my choice but PW might prefer to go with MacDonald who would add a bit of physicality. Another option would be Adelakun but that might be a bit risky. We're definitely going to miss Barlaser' s delivery from set pieces.

Whoever plays, we should have the quality and the incentive to overcome them.

If you are going to get promoted no good worrying about the opposition. Take it one game at a time the way our manager was talking last night he does not want to faff about with the playoffs. It is down to the players whatever team is picked I would like to see good result show a statement of intent.

I've never thought McDonald has shown any promise and looks weak so not him for me. Wiles was poor in midfield earlier in the season and was subsequently dropped for that so it's Lyndsey for me at the risk of a bit of creativity. Barlaser was spot on from free kicks and corners (unlike Wiles) so we will miss that. Always thought Mattock delivered a decent cross so maybe him on set pieces - not direct. Ladapo must have a starting place and earned it.

Lindsay out of our midfielders under contract with Roth U is the best including Crooks. But Warney's got other ideas up to now. If Koroma isn't ready, assuming Barlaser is out I'd go Lindsay Wiles Crooks Ogbene across the middle switching the latter to the left or Ogbene Lindsay Crooks or Wiles Koroma. Adelakun no.

We are short of a left-winger adelakun was brought in to replace Hastie, warne has tried various options wiles adelakun vassell all with different outcomes.

I agree with Gwru that if Lindsey is in the right mindset then he has to be the one to replace barlaser. crooks had a mare last night but he should be back to form on Saturday

team for me baring any last-minute injuries

Iverson
Olosunde Ihiekwe Wood or Thompson mattock Thompson to replace either wood or ihiekwe
ogbene crooks lindsey alekunde

smith ladapo

Hillsborough claims Crooks had a mare last night! He was part of a strong aggressive first half display along with most of the team. In the second half he was like the rest, made very little impact. That's how i saw it, you must have seen it differently Hilsborough which is fair enough.

We can really get at them with a high press which we did very well second half against them in the first game.

I’d possibly pull Smith out the side I think he’s had very little impact the last couple of games and could do with a rest.

They (MK) like to play it out from the back & that cost them Pompey's first goal last night. They're all good on the ball & at their best play nice free flowing football but that's against teams that don't get in their faces. We need the points here & can ill afford an AFC Wimbledon style slip up. COYR!!

It will come down to do the players want it.What about the Rotherham public filling the stadium we could be the 12th man.Nothing to be frightened of in this league. I still think there will be one team that will break from the pack at the top of the league why not us.

I sometimes wish that we had a bit more quality in the side, and at times we have struggled to be at our very best, but at no point have I ever doubted the commitment and desire of the players. We may or may not go up, but if we don't it won't be because of any lack of desire.

MK Dons are dangerous. It feels like most weeks we are up against a team on a good run of form. MK Dons are the same. Their defeat last night ended a winning streak but as others have said by all accounts they were very unfortunate to lose at Portsmouth, from where very few sides leave with anything.

The update on Barlaser's injury post-match sounded promising. Shame about Robertson being confirmed as out for the season.

Mk dons arrive on Saturday and i think it's fair to say they are one of the most improved sides in the league. In 2020 they have won 5 drawn 3 and lost 2 in the league. The defeats were at home to Sunderland and away to Portsmouth. As said before they were the better side at Pompy but couldn't get another goal. That is their weakness because only Bolton, Tranmere and Shrewsbury have scored less at 35 league goals. They beat Portsmouth at home on 29th December.

It looks like the star player is Rhys Healey, who they signed on a permanent deal in July 2019. He has scored 11 goals this season. He has had a serious knee injury (playing against us) and for a 25 yr old has not played a lot. Spent around six seasons at Cardiff but hardly featured for them but was loaned out and hit the net frequently on loan periods. His goals to games ratio is very good. Kieran Agard appears out of favour. His last full game was in the EFL in early Jan. he has been on the bench a couple of times in this good run but hasn't got on. A big blow imo is the loss of Morris for our game. His manger states he is a key player because he creates room and has a very physical presence. ... A special mention to Dean Lewington a 35 yr old full back who has played over 700 games for the club. He is a left back so lets hope Ogbene can get at him and test those old legs.

Mk Dons like to play a diamond formation 4:1:2:1:2. . They also like to play it out from the back and this fell foul on Tuesday when Williams nipped in and squared the ball for a tap in. We will press them on Saturday and for that reason i would start with Vassell but i don't think Warne will leave Ladapo out which is fair enough. I have a slightly worried feel about this game. They are playing with confidence according to them and others and i just have a feeling they could nick this. I will go for a combination of 0-0, 1-0 or 0-1.

It all rests on Warney to me. One thing he can learn from Evans if they are not good enough get shut ASAP. McDonald & Adelakun come into that category. Barlaser will be missed but he's not our player. Build midfield round Lindsay.

My word gwru does not take any prisoners talk about shooting from the hip Old Mcdonald does look past it Lindsey not done enough when he has played. I do agree it down to Mr warney he has told us he has got his squad up to him to use it. As for MK dons get out there and marmalize them.

Lindsay was our best midfield player up to his absence not his fault.

there are few worries for me this Saturday based on performance and injury

to replace barlaser if he is definitely injured then he could play one of three Lindsey wiles or MacDonald my choice is Lindsey
i thought crooks had a nightmare game Tuesday, he needs to be on his game Saturday

upfront it has to be ladapo with his scoring record

on the left is another choice adelakun wiles or Vassell

Hillsborough don't like any of them on the left. Either Koroma if he is ready or switch Ogbene. Lindsay Wiles Crooks Ogbene across the middle doesn't look shabby to me.
