Crawford went to Chesterfield didn't he and years later was employed by the Millers again as a scout I think but I may be wrong on that point.
I believe I was at that Barnsley game gwru stood on railway sleepers laid on pit waste. They had the ex Wednesday goalkeeper Peter Springett in goal at that time

Calypso I can only remember certain things. Just remember Crawford equalizing in that cup game at Barnsley Rotherham fans in our section of the stand joyous if that's not spelt right remember I haven't spent my working life were your spelling matterd. Millmoor wasn't a palace but it had the tivoli roar. As TH says those tomatoe flavoured sausage rolls burnt on the bottom were just the job.

Totally agree with that post, who cares how long you have supported the millers. my earliest recollection is been a mascot in 1980 and beating Sheff united as we lived in Hillsborough we had to catch the number 2 outer circular to Blackburn and then catch the Blackburn bus and going to the away matches with millers united as my dad was the chairman back then with ron cook and cliff powell

Was at Hillsborough for that divot assisted goal. Apart from that Mcbride proved to be the best left winger for us in my time watching us.

Doesn't matter to me right or left winger Towner was the best. What about our old mate twinkle toes Warnock.

Towner was undoubtedly good, but wingers come and wingers go. I remember little Keith Bambridge bombing down the wing with his little bandy legs, just a little guy but he got round the opposing full backs without much problem. Then there was Myerscough with his trade mark flick, and Barry Lyons also had a decent run in the side. Might be a bit before some of you went though.

Barry Lyons was the right winger when I started watching Roth U. Hard to split him & Towner.

Difficult to say who is the best, as they were all of their time and remembered as such. Times change, tactics change, fitness levels change, even the old casey has changed over the years, so it would be impossible to say that Towner for instance would be better than our wingers of today if he were playing now. At the time they were all better than average, and the crowds enjoyed their inputs.

All I can remember is season I started going to Millmoor 65-66 Lyons was one of standout players of a very good side. We wouldn't have got a player like him or Towner these days. No way.
