We are the only team not in action on Tuesday. Maybe it's just me, but I always look at the league table and assume that every game in hand equates to three points but of course that isnt the case. Some of our rivals play each other. Coventry play Portsmouth. Wycombe play Fleetwood. Some of them are bound to drop points. Others have tricky games. Oxford are at Burton and Ipswich are at Wimbledon. Even the teams with easy games on paper have the chance to slip up. Shameless I know, but at this stage of the season heres hoping that even without us playing Tuesday night will be a good night for us.

Coventry and Portsmouth are the only two who can catch us, having 2 games in hand but only Coventry can overtake us by 1pt, with Portsmouth behind us on goal difference. Peterborough are coming up close with only a couple of goal behind on GD, but they have played one game more. So yes smiler looking very tight at the moment lets hope the Fates are with us, although I don't like to think that our position in the League and ultimately our standing at the end of the season is in the hands of others. All we can do is to carry on doing what we're doing then the pressure will be on the others...'C'mon you Warney's Boys'
The best result for us is for Wimbledon to get a few injuries and a suspension or two no good worrying what other teams do it is what we do over to you Mr Warne.
By Saturday Wimbledon will have played twice since we last had a game. Hopefully that will give us an edge. Plus their star man Lamy will be ineligible to play. If I was Warney (thank God I'm not) I would be thinking that if we can beat Wimbledon at home and Accrington away (not easy but do-able) others will drop plenty of points in the meantime, and it could be looking pretty good for us with a dozen games to go. But yes, one game at a time, just control what we can control etc etc.
Which ever way we look at it right now we have 56 points in the bag, no one else does. So the pressure is on the other clubs to catch up; keeping one step ahead is the strategy now. Easier said than done; but with the other teams in contention having to play each other, some are bound to drop points. I'd rather be in our position rather than chasing.
The danger side is Peterborough. They are on fire and have an easy game tomorrow night Vs Southend at home. I still think we have a couple of decent months now playing bottom half opposition.
They are one of the form teams for sure NY but their next 2 after this weekend are away at Fleetwood and away at Burton which are both tough. Nobody has got it easy.
Coventry are currently in fourth and if they win their games in hand can go top. They have to play at home the three sides above them and the two directly below them. That is a tough assignment. I also think Portsmouth could well fall foul of too many games to play. Still in the mickey mouse cup and the F.A cup. I wouldn't swap our position or our run in with anybody
That Sunderland game could be a real deal-breaker - all sorts of connotations are possible. It's highly likely that one of us will be desperate to win that match to either achieve automatic promotion or to gain a play-off spot. It would be a great finale to the season if we were both playing for the Champion's position. Then again, we might both be well out of contention by then? Who knows! However, we're in a great place and whatever happens for the rest of the season, the lads have done us proud!
I'm in South London working for a couple of days, so I've decided to go and cheer The Dons on tonight at home to Ipswich as I'm staying about three miles away. Interested to see what lies in store for us on Saturday, and how Julien Lamy plays (if he plays - he was a late sub on Saturday). I will let you know what I think for what it is worth, although obviously you can watch the ninety second EFL Highlights on You Tube yourselves for a more reliable picture.
smiler if it's obvious you can tell pretty soon about a player. Not always is. McDonald when I 1st saw him for us could see he wasn't right. Not changed my mind on that. I liked Lindsay from day 1 out of actual signings on contract with us but Warney doesn't think the same. All about opinions.
So Warney doesn't have your unique gift of being able to watch a player for 90 seconds and make a judgement. As you said, head of recruitment is an easy job. Why hasn't anyone ever employed you within the game?

It is all about opinions gwru. On that we can agree. Â
You do tend to make a lot of assumptions. When Warne picks players you don't rate you find it difficult to accept that maybe, just maybe, he genuinely rates them as players even though you don't. I tend to prefer his opinion over yours (and mine for that matter). He is a qualified professional. You and I aren't.
By the way, I haven't seen anything to suggest that Warne doesn't rate Lindsay. You've made another assumption there. His situation is somewhat unique, as has been mentioned to you several times.
How did warney sign Mcdonald injury prone never going to be match fit Lindsey can not get onto the pitch our best midfielder. The last 2 games we have not been at our best even the great man himself has admitted that I know we have won but if we continue to play like we will lose a few games.
