Gwru what do you mean in the real world? Are you just bitter that footballers get paid well? For Richard Wood it is the real world that is what he does for a living, yes he is lucky but so what. Also Rotherham United is a private company it is up to the owners what they pay their staff, as long as they operate within the law it is nothing to do with you. You are just a customer do you complain on the Tesco chat rooms about the fact that the local manager gets paid more than the shop assistant. Your points and arguments are weak.

I don't begrudge Richard Wood getting an extra years money. He's been a good servant. But we've got our full quota of coaches that's if he wanted to go that way. Does he have the necessary coaching qualifications? Abit back he said he wanted to go into the media.

The Millers have three backroom staff, and can't afford any more?
The Millers club captain has known boss Warne since his days as fitness coach, having joined the club back in 2014, and insists he is well-aware of his duties off the pitch as well as those on it.
"I realise what I have to do, I am club captain. If I'm not involved at any point I've got to keep the lads going, look after the dressing room, do the community visits and be wherever the club need me to help out,” Wood continued.
“That is the sort of character I am, I'm willing to help anybody and possibly at times sacrifice myself for the good of the team.
"The Gaffer does trust me, I've enjoyed working with him these last few years and that's why I'm happy to sign and get it sorted.
"He obviously does rewarding me with new contracts, especially at my age as well. I do try and look after the lads as best I can, I try and manage and police it, keep everybody on side and keep us in the right frame of mind to win games.
"That's why I'm trying to get out of the lads - to speak more. Communication is massive in football and as young lads just coming into it, I'm not saying they're timid, but they need to learn the game quickly and that's what I'm here for.
"We've got some good young players and I'll try and bring the best out of them.”
That says it all really. He is a positive influence and has a role to play as the senior pro in the playing squad whether he is in the side or not, which at the moment he is on merit.
What a champion we have at our disposal such as Richard Wood. All that is good in the game, honesty integrity and a willingness that is almost viewed as a duty to pass on the knowledge and professionalism of the game onto the younger players. You can hardly put a price on that and you couldn't buy it even if there was.............and we have it.
Sadly some want to get rid.
I don't begrudge any footballer the money they get good on you woody for getting another 1 year contract you have earned it. Some the top earners get massive wages I am partly to blame for having Sky sports. Where I live all I hear is "all that money for kicking a bag of wind about" I can understand it when you are going to work for minimum wage or a pensioner struggling they will have no sympathy for any footballers can you blame them. Most of them don't understand why I pay to watch the millers all I can say is each to his own.
Has battled and stayed professional as much as anyone I can think of and has made vital and specific contributions with timely goals, crucial tackles and headers and most importantly his presence and communication.

RUFC have about 20 plus directly involved in the running and business of the club.
Of course there is then administration and matchday staff.
no idea about specific numbers but would hazard a guess the club support 50 full time staff and many more P/T...and th e squad of course. An expensive and well run club it appears to me at present.

He's too soft. He plays his mates. It's like a holiday camp. According to a couple of posters with vast knowledge of going to home games....mean all...telling it how they see it.
As a supporter with 55 years watching the millers seen managers come and go king Ronnie the best Evans 2nd the record books do not lie. When I was younger went all over in my Morris Marina useless car go over 60 everything rattling including me. Going to Tottenham in the cup on rilies bus windows smashed in that was a cold ride home. I stopped going to away games when I was not allowed to choose where I could go. As a more discerning supporter I can't stand up with some of the morons that go.
