At the moment we shouldn't be moaning, we are top of the league the players overall look like a team and believe in themselves and the owners have done good business in the summer and in January. Now all fans have players we like or don't like, or there are tactics that we don't get, but it is a results business and we are getting results and long may it continue. For me I do not like Mattock but he is all we have as a natural left back, I think Vas doesn't close down enough or chase enough. I never understand why when we defend a corner we do not leave Ogdene up the field he is so fast or why we never have anyone on the back post when we have a corner or free kick. The fans leaving early or coming in as we kick off and the general apathy of the Rotherham public to the team or other minor annoyances. If that is all I can find then we are in a great place. We should be feeling positive but also accept that each fan will have their own annoyances and be ready to discuss them in a rationale manner and enjoy the debate.

I agree with you about some of the annoyances and disagree about others. The suggestion that we should be ready to discuss our different opinions in a rational manner and enjoy the debate - I couldn't agree more.

Hear hear! Particularly the bit about arriving late and leaving early. Everyone's at liberty to do what they want, but please don't block my view when you take your seat or leave it!

People can come and go as they please for me standing up in front of some one all the way through the match I find a tad irritating.

I know people are entitled to but what do the players think about it. Coming out to a full ground and seeing a full stadium or nearly full clapping them must motivate them.

I was interested in Derby saying that football is a results business. That is said by pundits and supporters alike and seems to be the accepted wisdom. It might be right. For me though, results have become too important. We win five in a row and some supporters are straight into the managers ribs when we lose the sixth. All managers are at risk of the sack if they lose three in a row. There is no acceptance anymore that teams might not have a good season every season. Which is stupid because for every top there is a bottom and for every win a loss. I dont recall there being such a lack of patience and tolerance in days gone by. Managers were given time and provided supporters thought they were getting 100% effort they were reasonably happy to see their local heroes represent the town. All of the bad things in the game like diving, cheating, obscene wages, dissent, time wasting, agent interference etc are driven by the huge pressure on managers players and clubs to deliver instant results. If a team loses there is a rush to blame someone - sometimes the players, often the manager and always the officials. The game is worse for it. Just an observation.

Smiler I agree with you it is worse for it. Also the TV money is impacting the implementation of the rules they put pressure on the league's to have exciting games so less yellow and red cards. A great discussion on talksport about this tonight from the top footballing journalists, basically saying the game is biased and rigged now, more than it was before.

I think the Rotherham public have supported the team. 8k each week is a response to the teams performance levels historically.

The next level is a Barnsley type of attendance, but we haven't the history of Barnsley .

Possible a competitive championship team would fill the ground as is each week but we are only 1k from max home support as it is.

Dont feel I have anything to complain about . Wish the club shop was bigger but all in all we have had a great 8 years. The only very frustrating time for me was under Stubbs.

Barnsley have a bigger fan base due to the extra travel time to Sheffield or Leeds.

I believe for us to get to around the 10.5K mark we will need to be outperforming the Sheffield clubs over a period of time or hopefully, the blue one goes bust. and goes non league or my god can you imagine samaritans will need to take on extra staff

Barnsley also had the luxury of having one season in the Prem all be it years ago but that season alone would have boosted attendances in the long run.

Derby you are right about corners, I think pulling everyone back invites unwanted pressure. Ogbene is probably the quickest player in the division and I’d have him on the half way line every time to try and counter, he’s not going to win many headers defensively in our own box.

Clarke lack of height can't have him at left back. Ogbene I'd keep him as far I could away from the defence. When he looses the ball we are usually stretched at the back.

Put this on here because i don't know how to start a new thread. Was told last night that young Jacob Gratton has received a very serious knee injury playing for the youth team.
