TH, I have been in a managerial position for the last 30 years, including when I was playing football semi-pro. If the chairman liked the cut of your job, he made you a manager in his business, with hours based around training and match days. I also got a uni degree in my available hours. You?

I now manage a business for a guy who is basically incompetent, which makes me indispensable. I have grown his business from the days when he was driving an S plate Toyota Have with foam sticking out of the seats. He now cruises around in a Merc M series, and we also have a 12 month old Mitsubishi L200 and Peugeot Boxer.

I sent his tax assessment to his accountants today in the same XLS spreadsheet format as last year. When I first started working for him he asked me to send them an email saying "same as last year". I had to explain to him that's not how it works.

Tell me again that I couldn't run a chip shop. In the late 90's I took the Greyhound in Sydling St Nicholas in Dorset from 4k pa to 12k pa in three years. Google the pub.

LOL. I am a workaholic, but I set the work environment, because I understand how to get the best out of people, without 70's "jump when I say jump" management techniques. Then again, you won't have experienced 21st century management techniques.

Now you explain the reasons why they should jump, and the benefits to everyone concerned.

Back to football did we have a manager in late 60's called Fred Green I think he came from a Rotherham Steelworks? Someone on this site might know?.

Run away. You told me that I couldn't run a chippy. 22 years ago I was running a pub in Dorset that was taking 12k per per week. I am much smarter than you are. Accept it.

Not in the slightest bit interested means nothing to me that is pennies I machined forgings worth hundreds of thousands of pounds guess what I was not concerned in the slightest so why should a paltry 12k mean anything. I am worried that we might not get three points tomorrow night.

Why is my CV showing off? I reacted because your mate said that I couldn't manage a chippy. I proved otherwise.

Chucking out of your gang now TH. While every game , in theory at least, may be winnable, sadly reality says different. Most of us live in the real world.

Calypso Peterborough game we should have got something out of it. Warney knows he got it wrong & we should have had a defender in by now.
