smiler you TC ect... are so up yourselfs! You can dish it out but don't like it back. I go on facts. I'll be proved right. I've been in this game too long to get it wrong.

I am biting now. I played rugby a bit at school. I've never coached it but I have played cricket and understand the pressures of working in an office so I consider myself to be something of an expert. I predict that the England rugby team will eventaully lose a six nations rugby game unless they pick exactly the starting fifteen I would pick. Tell me different, Nostradamus.

"up yourselfs" It's yourselves. Do smiler and I pretend to be some sort of tactical genius? No. That's your domain. There's only one that is up themself. YOU! And haven't been in this game. I have. You watch football.

Joke? The only person who thinks TH is funny is gwru. The only person who thinks gwru knows anything about football is TH. I hate getting dragged into their rantings because it's futile. Shame on me!

Just returned from a pub in Lincoln where I met 3 Portsmouth fans who are up for the Lincoln v Portsmouth game on Tuesday. Most people on here would appreciate the discussion that we had - banter but serious and with a heavy serving of reality. They thought the top four at the end of the season would comprise Ipswich, Sunderland, Portsmouth and Coventry. However, they suffer from big club syndrome and I reminded them of Rotherham's recent record in the promotion stakes.

It was the kind of discussion that you get amongst genuine football fans. Everyone contributing their two penneth worth but no-one making outrageous statements just to attract attention. This board is similar to the pub environment but unfortunately there are a couple of old soaks who keep spouting off, embarrassing themselves and annoying reasonable posters. Unlike a pub, on social media you can't turn around and ignore them.

smiler I can't stand Rugby both codes. Don't mind test cricket at all. Was watching this morning. England test side cricket seem to be getting some younger players through. Warney take note! I'm at the new York next two games. Just select a side on merit. That's all I ask.

You might not believe it I don't try it just some of you on this site take yourself to seriously and I can't help myself. I just don't care what is said about me but I am very good at working things out. I worked out we would lose on Saturday Tuesday I can't work that one out because after that defeat do the players want it. Those of you that worked in an office played team games work it out. I still have one hundred yards record at my school does that count for anything.

Who are these these genuine football fans it could be an old crinkly or a young 5 year old going to his or her first match. Load of old rubbish anyone who attends games are entitled an opinion if you don't like it tough.

I'm in your gang TH, cos I worked out the probability of a defeat at Posh same as you, This was based on :-
A. We were due a defeat re law of averages.
B. We turned them over a few weeks ago and humiliated them. As professionals they would have been up for vengeance or should have been.
C. We had Crooks and Vassal both out injured, the power houses of our recent good run
D. Being top of the League, we are there for everyone to have a go to upset our parade.

Taken the above into account and baring in mind, for me, it was a pretty sure thing. Had I been a betting man I would have put a few quid on a Posh win.
A close thing though, could quite reasonably been a draw due to a definite penalty not given in the last second.
You know what they say 'Great minds....' eh?

Calypso was a defeat that could have been avoided. Should have just played 5 across the middle with Smith loan forward. Also should have been a left back in by now. Mattock he's not been on his game all season.

So what you are saying is that, if you were manager, the Millers would still be top because they would have won on Saturday. Do you realise how silly that sounds.

guru is correct as usual it was a winnable game. Our manager has given an apology to the fans that went so he has admitted that he got it wrong.1-0 to the main man.

So if you and/or gwru were manager, the Millers would have won?

After all, all that is required is watching Rotherham for a few years, and sitting on your phone or behind a keyboard and saying "play Lamy on the left....Crooks is Rubbish....Adelakun...holding players back". Easy, innit. Trust me, management in general, and football management in particular is nothing like that in the least.

TC I know players today are fragile. Need TLC. Not like my old gaffer at BSC when he said jump you jumped!

What has your old manager at BSC in any way connected with football management in the 21st century? Jesus swept. I am of the opinion that your life experience is extremely limited. 70's and 80's management techniques, or lack of them, are best left in your BSC era.

I really missed out. I have no experience of management that involved using a whip and a chair.
