Shock horror vassell is injured AGAIN four games back and he is injured unbelievable, it must be serious as we called back Yates. Don't our club ever learn anything. Last Jan we called back Yates to cover for injuries we refused to buy or loan anyone and it cost us big time. We are top of the league and we rely on one of the sicknotes we have and our answer is Yates really Yates. The squad is crying out for left sided defensive cover at a minimum, I really hope we do not ruin the good work so far over not investing. We need the 3 sicknotes off our wage bill and in the future no buying players with poor injury records

Tell me someone we'll get better than Yates? Give him a chance. I don't want a forward that's not played.

Indeed. If the managerial team weren't incompetent we'd be further up the league than 1st

Talk about your glass being half empty he is match fit scoring goals even a dumpling like me can see a bit of sense in him being recalled. See if he gets any proper match time not coming on in the last 5 minutes you never know it might be different this time.

It's clear from his latest interview that Warne would like another forward. It sounds like we are looking at options. If we can get someone in who is a better option than Jerry Yates we will, and Yates would then probably go out either permanently or on loan. If not, Yates stays for the remainder of the season and we get a player who is fit, confident and who we know. All seems fair enough to me.

Re Vassell, Its the nature of the beast, player will get injured one way or another. Take Proctor for instance; he wasn't signed as a lame duck, but bad luck did for him despite a promising start and to all intent and purposed has not played for us since. theres no guarantees in football, even the fittest can come a cropper.

Meanwhile Swindon Town have announced the signing of forward Hallam Hope from Carlisle for an undisclosed fee. Last season Hallam Hope bagged 17 goals at Brunton Park while under the stewardship of John Sheridan and, now-Swindon coach, Tommy Wright as Carlisle fell just short of the play-offs.

I still think Yeats has been brought back to be sold with this manager we have got all you can do is to try and read In between the lines. He says one thing one week the opposite next. The Newcastle player last week he could be going back this week he is staying. Haven't got a clue if we are going to do any business before the end of the transfer window does he?.

Yep, that makes sense... he's clearly on form, so if Vassell is indeed injured, I agree we should give Yates a chance to show he's improved enough...

We still need cover at the back though in my opinion... dissapointed if we don't get anyone in.

That would be because the situation around him changes.  Barlaser belongs to Newcastle and they had the right to recall him but only if they did so before a certain date. In the last week that date has passed, so we now know he is staying.  Players might get injured.  We might get phenomenal bids in for our players.  All things that are beyond our conrol.  So the honest answer is that our manager is like any other manager - he knows what he wants to happen but because there are variables beyond his control he has to constantly reassess and react.

In regards Vassell, let's hope the injury isn't too serious and on a positive note warne now knows his best position is in the striker role not on the wing. so either play him there or put him on bench.

stop the square peg in round hole, playing wiles at left back yeah he is doing ok there but better teams will expose him need a better cover for mattock

You are right about us needing more cover at the back. My sources have informed me we are looking at another defender if anything does happen in the next week we shall have to see.

With players coming back going to be hard to keep players happy if they are not starting. Left back it's been our problem position all season. I'm not convinced with Wiles at left back away from home up against a half decent winger but can't see Mattock being fit. Only way to protect Wiles is to have someone on the left in front of him taking the game to the opposition. Yates start him there, let's see what he can do.

We're stuck with Yates. Swindon are close to completing a cash deal for Eoin Doyle and no longer need Yates. Now he's stupidly been turned out for us he can't go anywhere other than Swindon. You couldn't make it up.
