Some of you on this site must have the memory of a goldfish. Vaulks went for a record transfer fee this transfer window no one has been banging our door down to get Crooks. I don't mind him but you can not compare.
There is no good answer to suit gwru. Either Warnock knows less than gwru (plainly ridiculous), or all Cardiff fans know less than gwru (plainly ridiculous as they have seen him play for them), or Vaulks is a good player but needs time to settle (which would look ridiculous coming from gwru who judges all our players based on their photo on the day of signing). The only other answer is that Vaulks isnt actually that good. That being the case, I am expecting the usual response that we get when the foolishness of his nonsense is laid bare, which either no response at all or just a repeat of his bare assertion - the 'no it isnt' Monty Python response described elsewhere by Calypso.
Of course I forgot the other possibility - a response from his alter ego/ partner in crime (so to speak) to move the discussion in a slightly different direction.
Ajayi and Valuks for me would still be challenging for a place and because Ajayi is playing every week at the top of the championship it stands to reason he must be the better player,
Lots and lots of games to go. only time will ultimately tell us the answers regarding this squad.
Crooks what did he cost us bout £200,000? there'll be no club this transfer window or next who'd pay that. There's no value in him. Vaulks there is up to the next level from us, £ 2 1/2 Million says there is.
Cardiff paid that for him gwru. That's a fact. Why has he only played two and a half games for them though? They are 13th at the moment. He hasnt been injured. Their supporters dont want him in the team. Which of the explanations are you going to plump for?
Won't bother him he'll be on min' £15,000 a week. He's worth that to me. Voluntary work he did outside our club was beyond the call of duty. He didn't publicise it he just did it. Outstanding person. No mean footballer either. If Cardiff don't want him he'll be loaned out will find a decent championship side.
No insight, no logic, no substance. No real answer. Ignore the facts and evidence.
You really are special. Wood should have gone two years ago. Olosunde never been a footballer. Clarke too small. Hastie - send him back. Barlaser - send him back. Ladapo - waste of money. Adelakun - too risky. Ihiekwe - bottler so offload him. Crooks - never been a player. Vassell - get shut. Mattock - finished. Thompson - doesn't look a defender. Lamy and Hinds - seen them for five minutes apiece nd theyve got it. Warne - pay him off. Football genius gwru. Comedy gold.
smiler over a season your going to change your mind about players. Take Ihiewke nearly 2 years ago weren't only me who had written him off but now he's player of the season. This season as of now would say only Jones Clarke McDonald Hastie I don't see with a future here. End of the season depending what league we are in there'll be more.
This is not having a dig at warne but it may explain why fans get frustrated with him. when he . says stuff like this,\
"If you play two up front and get the ball into the box you've got a right chance of winning a game," Warne said.
"Smudge (Michael Smith) is now on ten goals, Freddie (Ladapo) has 12. All the strikers are on song. The difficulty is trying to keep all three of them happy."
so why didn't he play this formation from the start

Its a good job Warne didn't write Ihiekwe off. And Ladapo, Wood, Thompson, Vassell, Crooks, Barlaser, Olosunde and the rest of them. Its a good job he is the manager and you aren't. Don't you agree? If you were in charge none of them would be here now. Instead of making snap judgments from an armchair, Warne understands that players sometimes need time, coaching and all round proper management.
Will you give Warne (who you also wrote off) credit for that?
Don't worry - if you give him credit now you can always change your mind next Saturday if we lose for the first time in ages, and revert to slagging him off again.

I’ve no idea why this formation wasn’t used from the start, I think it was obvious 4-3-3 was never going to work even as far back as the friendly games. We’ve now got strikers much more central instead of Smith as an example playing wide and no use to anyone. You could tell the players weren’t comfortable in that system.
My take on formation/perspective... Some of us (me included) early on this season had the view that this squad overall is one of the best for a long while. I don't think we have any stand-out 'stars' but the quality and ability was better overall, barring injuries etc.
But a lot of the squad were new to RUFC, not played together, and we therefore didn't know the best formation, in fact I started a thread posing that very question a while back.
So, I don't see how anyone, including our other potential manager (Klopp ) could have known what our best formation was going to be until well into the season.
The team is playing well, we are top, and with no new injuries can have a real go at getting back up... plus there is no doubt at all that the players are giving 100% and enjoy playing as a team together... Team spirit DOES count towards success.
let's enjoy it and stop talking about players we haven't got and criticising the manager who has us top of the league!!!

There were signs pre-season that the three up front formation might work, and we didnt start the season badly either. It isnt as if we were ever miles off the pace. We played well at Wimbledon on day one, hammered Shrewsbury away and got a good win at Burton. It wasnt fluid but we were getting decent enough results (particularly away) to stick with it for a while and see it it 'clicked', particularly as (as Davidedin says) we were integrating a lot of new players. 442 can be effective but so can any system if done well with good players who know their jobs and are good at it. The change to a simpler 442 seems to have made us a better side though and we have brought in the personnel to do it. I would say that we also have the scope to change it if the situation demands, which is also good.
the issue I had with playing 4 3 3 with a combination of smith ladapo and morris is that smith a target man ladapo is poacher so those two are player are best played in a two up front system
morris we never saw really what he could as he was always on the wing, vassell is a good example so far of what u get when u play the player in the right position
