One last mention on this Kop Choir I WAS THERE were you. Where would we be without Woody mid table I bet is he going to drag us to promotion as he did 2 years ago he is our leader if you haven't got a player as good as him in your team you have got nowt.

Wood cause this league it's that bad gets away with it along with the likes of Crooks. Championship beyond those two.

"I lv home games I'm not sat with people who can't see past their nose" You don't see any irony in that comment?

"I wouldn't read too much into yesterday". Of course you wouldn't. That would suggest that Paul Warne is doing a pretty fine job, and we couldn't have that, could we. Would you have read anything into it if the Millers had lost 3-1? Of course you would. Just to inform you, Oxford had conceded 7 goals at home prior to yesterday. Rotherham had made that ten withing 45 minutes.

"Glad I wasn't there" Why wouldn't you want to be there to watch the Millers beat a promotion rival? I was there, and the Millers produced a great performance with your mate Crooks being the man of the match in my eyes. Can you see how I don't confuse my opinions with facts, as you constantly do.

"I've forgot more than most know" Keep trying to convince yourself. I don't think that there is any danger of you convincing anyone else.

"What I don't like Warney he's not like Warnock or Evans he's not going to stretch TS his pockets so we end up with risky injury?" What does that mean?

Have you ever heard the expression if it's not broken don't fix it? Why would Warne thrust three untried 19/20 year olds into the team with the Millers sitting pretty at the top of the table, and being the top scorers in the league. Is it just that you would like one of them to "show something" so that you can sit in your armchair busily preening your ego, while constantly repeating go to home games, mean all, tell it how I see it, football is exactly the same as horse racing.

TC I haven't even watched extended highlights from yesterday. Nothing to gain from that. I wondering if we really want to go up? Signings or potential signings aren't telling me we do. What's it matter I'll be there next August whatever with my season ticket in same seat I've had from day 1 at the New York.

In fact, it wasn't a good day for you yesterday, the Millers winning comfortably and the goals being scored by Kyle "get rid" Vassell, and Richard "get shut" Wood. Just a shame that Crooks couldn't add to his current tally of seven goals from midfield just to put the lid on it.

TC you can't teach an old dog new tricks! I've been round the block too long to know one swallow doesn't make a summer. See what next Saturday brings.

Terrible day for gwru. We won. All the players he wants shut of played well. The new signing who was a waste of time because he isnt ready to play actually started. Clearly you have to question whether the club is actually trying to go up. On the day we went top I'm sure that thousands of others are thinking the same (not). Never mind gwru, your fortunes may change. With a bit of luck (from your perspective) JCH will score a winner against us next week, and you'll be able to tell us all about it again. I honestly believe that would be your preferred outcome.

Gwru, there have been a few swallows on view lately. Not sure if you've noticed but we have been winning every game recently against top half sides. We are top and there are 19 games left. We might not end up going up, but most genuine supporters would be allowing themselves to buy into the idea that we arent a bad side and that we might be in with a shout. Most genuine supporters would be getting behind that effort. When you've made your mind up at 3.05 next Saturday (which you say you are going to do every week by the way which is nonsense because in truth you made your mind up years ago) could you do the world a favour and keep it to yourself?

Doubters should watch this Oxford Fan's review... nice to watch and hear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWK75Vg2kDk

I woke up this morning feeling really good about the result, our league position and the team generally.

Life is too short , and being a Miller is not always easy,  so not to enjoy the good moments without having to qualify it is just sad and wrong..

Enjoy it, it might not last, but I hope it does, cos it feels great!!

Adelakun looks like I remembered him at S****horpe - big , strong and quick enough. It cant be easy dropping into a new team after what must have been only a couple of training sessions. He did well all things considered. A solid if unspectacular start.

Thanks for that Smiler, sounds good.

I look fwd to the next game on Saturday and seeing him, I think Mattock is back too ? so should have a proper defence, although I can't believe how well we've done with so many missing at the back, maybe it's forced us to take the play to the opposition more, whatever, it's good to watch again and long may it continue... UTM

Exactly my thoughts smiler. Big for a winger, we have turned into a big strong side. Reassuring to see that he didn't need crutches as some had suggested.

What I like about yesterday's win was that we went to Oxford and won without any of Jones, Thompson, Robertson, Mattock, Lindsay, Hastie or Ladapo starting. The first four players mentioned there would make a strong league one back four and in my humble opinion any of them would make most league one starting lineups. So we have a bit of resilience and strength in depth.

Adelakun didn't register with me when we played S****horpe play-off semi-finals nearly two years ago. Can remember Holmes & Yates but we were never going to get them. Holding Lamy back all I can see.

For the real fans on here who are interested in the quality of our team, this is a good read from the opposition

Another interesting stat, we are the league's top scorers with 45 goals, but haven't got a player in the league's top ten scorers. Shows we play a team game and support each other in attack. And before GWRU says that's because we haven't got a goalscoring striker, we have played against a fair number of games against the top sides in this league, so we obviously can outplay them. No GWRU, they can't ALL have off days playing against us, so perhaps we do have a management team that do their homework and know how to play against the opposition. And yes, it doesn't always work, but that doesn't immediately make our players useless, it just makes football the game that it is, and what gives us both pleasure and frustration throughout the season.

As I was getting a pint this afternoon I asked the bar person who I know in a season ticket holder what she thought of Rotherham being top of the league the answer was " boring " not a warney fan. My view is if the chairman is backing him I will but that's it. Great to be top of the league but I am keeping my powder dry until April. It seems to me in this site you are only allowed to march to the beat of one drum I might not have a drum but on the triangle I am brilliant.

Its been a fascinating season thus far. I was quite optimistic about PW and his 433 but it didnt work. It may have been too optimistic with very new players and simply little time to make a real judgement on them. He stuck to it for a dozen games or so as he gradually introduced smithy back into a more familiar position and responsibility. In the end I was glad PW changed it as it wasnt working.

The team has certainly grown and its come as a big surprise to me that we have just taken top spot. My Judgement after the Coventry game
was that we would finish around 10th to 8th.

Id be interested in what others think but I believe my main evidence for the lowly finish was a direct comparison with Steve Evans promotion-winning team albeit via the playoffs. In my mind, this team would get beaten 9 times out of 10 by that one, but the current position and results dont really support that view. Yet, its one I can't stop doing the negative comparison too. Interestingly, the PW team that went up via the superb professional Richard Wood was also in my opinion not quite good enough and it was a real surprise the way the season ended. However, when we had that late run of form and the semi-finals lined up as they did I had little doubt we were firm favourites from that point on.

It is a hell of an achievement to hit the top halfway through the season at this level considering our history. However, I may be suffering from a lack of belief and objective evidence as of course, we have been very successful over the last several seasons. Indeed, its our most successful spell ever perhaps in the modern era. so, perhaps we are deservedly up there on merit. Another thing to add is that if our home form had been as good as average wed be several points clear.

I have been impressed with the evolution of the team and some of the individual players. It is very rare we get done for pace or power and now the strikers look generally more confident its a really good sign. Oxford are a very good side and when they comprehensively beat us earlier in the season they looked like a team good enough to win the league.

The game itself was impressive. We more or less took the game to them and were easily worth the 3 goals. They were all quality too were they not. Oxford still caused problems and did not stop trying to play football but the chances they had were not put away. First half was dominant. We were stronger everywhere. We were quick, direct, strong and won virtually every second ball. The second half really was a case of us stepping off the gas a little and staying focused and contained. Not a fan of that in some respects but when it works it is a gret idea as the amount of confidence a team gets from being able to sit back and still tie up the game is not to be underestimated. However, they did have slightly the better of the 2nd half and it would not have been a surprise if they had socred 2 as they had chances. If that second goal had gone in we would all be lamenting a game thrown away and the inquest would have been bitter. However, I always believe the result is justified and it as a resounding win against an excellent side.

Form comes and goes and the sign of a really good side is consistency. This is our first decent spell and so we will not be able to say too much for certain until another 2 months or so.

There is some confidence there at the moment however and that must be all down to the staff and management team and hopefully, the players are starting to really trust each other and there knowledge of the right ball to the right man at the right time seems to have really come of age now. The wide play I think has made all the difference with some good performances from back to front really starting to emerge. Getting and winning that ball in that final third is the key to our style and current success.
