Picking best managers for me 1 Ronnie Moore 2 Steve Evans 3 Porterfield 4 I can't remember his name Scottish manager in the 70's. He fetched through a very good crop of young players Breckin Stancliffe Crawford Finney and a few more I might shoe Warney at no 5. I will give you my reason it was just more fun. I have seen some brilliant days when these people were in charge. Remember when Porterfield was in charge very dodgy chairman it was still a good time.

I think you are thinking of Jim McAnearney. Before him Jack Mansell was a great manager. Light years ahead of his time. Evans couldnt be spoke of in the same breath as those two and Porterfield.

Jim Mcguigan was manager when Stancliffe Brecks Finney Crawford got in the side. Could have been manager when we beat Arsenal in the 70's in the league cup. I'd have on achievement insight 1 Ronnie 2 Jack Mansel 3 Evans 4 Porterfield 5 Emlyne 6 Mcguigan in my time watching them. Warney no insight I can see so well down the list.

Jack Mansell was manager in mid sixties. Tommy Docherty took over from him.

Last point for Glenn Morris wins more headers in a game than Smith does in ten games, the lad is strong and has pace, that is three areas he is better than Smith. Also remember he is contracted (renewed in the summer) with a Premier League club not a League 1 club, to say Smith is an all-round better player shows a complete lack of understanding of the game.

Derby - I'm sure you didn't mean to be so patronising!?  Smith's headers tend to go in the right direction - I cite today's as a prime example. He controls the ball better than Morris and has better pace - Morris is quick over 10 yards. However, I bow to your superior knowledge of the game and will go back to my armchair.

I'm fairly sure that he fully intended to be that patronising Glenn. There wasnt much room for doubt about it. For what it is worth, I dont think there is much to choose between Smith and Morris. On balance I might marginally favour Morris but only marginally. It is good that we can pick one and rest the other as we have seen in the last two games, and without losing anything. They have both played well in them. I think when we have everyone fit we will have the strongest bench in the division whoever starts, which might well be important as the season rolls on.

Morris is on his way out ' so Smith will hold all the cards unless Warney signs another striker |

True: Morris. Need another big striker in good enough. Centre back also. If we give anyone a contract got to be good enough for the championship, that's where we aiming to be next season.
