This is no time to be taking chances with unproven and inexperienced players. Neither Lamy nor Hinds have the what it takes to slot in to a team on the verge of the automatic promotion places. Olosunde at left back for me, Thompson right back and Ogbene right wing. The understanding that Thompson and Ogbene had on Sunday should be allowed to develop - they worked really well together. If Olosunde is preferred at left back, I wonder if Warney will play Clarke in front of him to shore up the left side? However, if Lindsay is fit and ready to go, I think I'd prefer to see him in midfield. I'd also start with Smith who I reckon is superior to Morris in virtually every aspect.
It would all have been far simpler if Mattock wasn't such a hot-head!
But of course your two boys Lamy and Hinds, with the grand total of thirteen minutes of experience in League One between them, would seamlessly make the step up to The Championship? But of course, you are your own man, you tell it how you see it don't you.
Lamy is a wild card. Maybe you could throw him on from the bench to chase a game. But you can't risk having a defender in a competitive game who isn't ready. Hinds last played a competitive game in the sixth tier and apparently found it challenging. If Warne thinks he is ready he will play him but so far he has preferred to play Mattock, Jones, Robertson and Clarke at left back before Hinds. He could have played Mattock at centre back and Hinds at left back against Fleetwood but he preferred to play Crooks out of position. It looks very much like Hinds is about our fifth or sixth choice left back. I think we all hope that Hinds will become a good footballer and when he is ready I'm sure we will get right behind him, but the professionals who see him every day obviously think he is miles away from being ready. With the greatest respect gwru I will back that judgment over yours which is totally unqualified and is based on seeing the lad in a couple of meaningless kickabouts.
TC you've played game I haven't but I know enough a full back on his wrong side up against a decent winger he's at more of a disadvantage than normal, he's already at a disadvantage running backwards. But I don't rate Clarke & Hinds can't get a look in so will have to be a right sided player at left back. Rest of defence picks itself, there's nobody else fit. Switch Ogbene to the left & bring Lindsay or Wiles in, my preference Lindsay. I'd start same with Morris partnering Ladapo up front. Smith as I said looked off the pace when he came on Sunday.
Glennmiller I know TH personally. There's nothing unpleasant about him. He's very quick witted I know that. I don't think it's a good thing at all if Warney gets too close to the players. Also what he says what you read in the tizer ect... it's embarrassing. Abit sickly.
It's just a very, very boring jibe that's been told far too many times. If you're going to wind people up THMiller you need to get some new material. Dont be fooled into thinking you're sharp just because gwru thinks you are. He wanted Bailey-King, Lamy and Hinds in Paul Davis's Team of the Decade.
Forget about the players manager of the decade STEVE EVANS what a guy the record books do not lie. If you are picking the best team from the last decade the majority of the players will come his reign all I am interested in is results. Plus one of the best goals ever scored at Wembley. I will have to go now I am that sharp I have just cut myself where are the plasters.
Been checking squads for the last 10 years we weren't blessed with an outstanding at our level right winger in that time. Danny Ward could play either wing so going for him on the right in place of Agard. Martinez for Camp in goal. Grabban or Derbyshire for Smith up front.
What a guy, the record books do not lie, says TH. Well they certainly do not. He joined us and it wasn't long before he had a six match stadium ban from his time at his previous club. It was for foul, abusive and insulting language towards a female member of staff at Bradford City. His win ratio is only 5% above that decent guy Paul Warne at 41%. Yet during his time he had two promotions. I would sooner drink green tea with warney and know i was with a decent human being than with obnoxious, womanising and hot tempered Evans. I wonder if Glen Millers last sentence does actually sum you up TH. Hope not, we need to get rid of these nasty people in football and believe me Evans is at the top of the tree when it comes to people you don't want to be around you.
Don't tell me you was not up out of your seat when that 2nd goal went in at Wembley. In the last 10 years that is the best moment by miles. I have never said I liked Stevie but it was more fun never boring. I can't understand some of you on this site why do you hate some people so much loosen up a bit.
Can I be the 1st to wish everyone on this site a HAPPY NEW YEAR and I hope it starts with 3 points against Blackpool UTM.
whiston01 Mourinho was as bad with that female doctor at Chelsea but how many jobs has he since, how many millions has he made getting sacked? I couldn't stand Evans the person but it's a results business. Rotherham tizer they all p*ss in the same pot. Couldn't be anyone else other than Evans manager of the decade for Roth U. Team of the decade TH he's right 6 out of the 11 tizer selected are Evans players, think they only picked Smith cause it would have made 7 with Derbyshire in it.
It's a shame his name is getting dragged across the board again but since it is, here goes. I never wanted Evans in, wanted him out as soon as possible and would never have him back. He got us up to the Championship but at enormous cost. It isnt just a results business for everyone. For some people it is important to have a club to be proud of. I could never be proud of us while Evans was our manager. His record of offending says it all. We were universally loathed when he was our manager and to my mind it was shameful that we took him on. I have no time at all for him. Warne is ridiculed by some for being a decent, honest man. As it happens Warne gives us results on a par with what Evans managed and a club to be proud of to boot. I would take Warne over Evans every single day of the week. In any case, we should be looking forwards not backwards.
Quite so smiler. Also, lets not forget the often mentioned pinnacle of Evans achievements while with us, the back to back promotions and keeping us in the Championship for a year. All this seemingly trumpeted as the greatest achievement of a Rotherham manager, without mentioning the achievements of Ronnie Moore who also gained back to back promotions for us but managed to keep us there for 4 seasons wasn't it? He did that on a shoe string of a budget, and without the lure of a fantastic new modern stadium or the budget that Evans had. Moore wins hands down every time
The cir***stances of Evans' departure are still rather unclear and rumour ridden. But its my belief he jumped ship while the going was good in order to keep a clean CV, with the knowledge that the club faced possible relegation and he had reached his limit and was punching above his weight and ran. Whatever the reason I was delighted to see him go and despite being revered by the dewy eyed appreciation society, he has done nothing of any significance since.
Evans has gone and that 2014 wembley match will always be special for me more so as it was my dad's last game. I think PW is not such a nice guy as he portrays there are a few players that have not been treated very well by him this could be that he lacks the strong ability to deal with difficult people or that he is ruthless to keep his group pure and close personally to him, a manager has to be strong and even though I do not agree with all his personnel decisions we have to give him the benefit of the doubt at this time. If the club wants to go up then we need at least 2 players that can also operate at championship level, loans and freebies are not the answer, we will see how ambitious we really are in the next few weeks. Last point for Glenn Morris wins more headers in a game than Smith does in ten games, the lad is strong and has pace, that is three areas he is better than Smith. Also remember he is contracted (renewed in the summer) with a Premier League club not a League 1 club, to say Smith is an all-round better player shows a complete lack of understanding of the game, Smith has qualities and so does Morris I am glad we have them both. Happy New Year everyone, enjoy the game today I am not there as I am on a New Years holiday
