whiston01 glad I wasn't there. Painful enough at home. Kempton park King George day must watch on tv of course! If we'd have been at home I'd have recorded Kempton. Really pleased we won keep season alive. Now I want some excitement these next few months at home to keep my mind off the cold. Just abit of tinkering now. No Olosunde other than playing right back. Would like Lindsay back ASAP. Lamy on the bench. If Mattock is out I don't want to see Robertson Jones Clarke at left back when we have Hinds.

So Caspar, Melchior and Balthazar had come to the conclusion by 2.30 pm on a boxing day afternoon that the millers were doomed, dreading the team news and our manager deserving all the pressure he gets from his blinkered views and his 4.3.3 formation that never works. With the star shining bright on the New meadow so the three can see what is going on from over 100 miles away and not forgetting that the thousand who go, who just go to get lagged up and cause trouble, the game begins.

What's this, Warne has selected a left sided wing back/left back who has played over 350 league games in preference to a 20 yr old who has played 5 for Frickley, 4 for Hyde and 5 for Bradford p.A.. Get Hinds in comes the cry from Caspar. Oh no he isn't playing Lamy, another 20 yr old with 1 league game and 2 EFL cup games. These are soft sides we are up against. I know this lad has it cries Caspar.

The game is, i think, being played mostly in the Shrewsbury half with Rotherham in the ascendancy. Not too many chances created, but Morris going close and half chances created. At half time we go in a bit disappointed we are not at least one up, but the only aspect to worry about from the Shrews is how physical they are. Surely Lamy and Hinds would have done the biz with all these big physical players up against them. I know lets wait for the three wise men to comment with the star still shining bright on the New Meadow. Oh, hold on a minute they are waiting for extended highlights later on, so its's up to us drunken sods to pass on an opinion first.

We start in a similar vein in the second half and get a headed goal from a player who should be nowhere near the team. He has been rubbish all season. Our goalie still hasn't had a save to make. This alters a few minutes later when the Shrews equalise from a well worked free kick, again. We are not as good in this half, and it is becoming a physical, scrappy affair. Smith is brought on with a few minutes to go and there he is on added, added time heading a brilliant winner from a cross by Thompson who was much better today. That's my take on it. Don't believe what i say. Wait while Caspar and co tell you what happened. Up to 5th and two points off second. Get that Warne sacked he is clueless. That Barker knows nothing about tactics. Can i become one of the wise men please. UTM.

Brilliant Whiston. Made my Christmas! Can't wait for Easter and the resurrection of Warney's reputation!!

I am having a couple of days being able to think is this the turning point in our season. We are long overdue a home result at the NYS surely the penny has dropped with the players. I still think this league is not that great come on Warney let's sand blast Peterborough I am having to miss my Sunday afternoon pint. Who the hell picked 3pm ko should have been 12pm I hope it is worth it.

We didnt get another late winner, did we? How so? We all know there is no fight in a Warney side. The Shrews must have had too much Christmas Pudding. We can only win when the opposition is crap. Olosunde playing more forward....it will never work (apart from wins at Ipswich and now Shrewsbury). My neighbours lad might only be ten but he looks useful with the new football he got for Christmas. I might have only seen him for five minutes but more often than not that's long enough for me - why isnt he in line to mark Toney on Sunday? Tell me I'm wrong! Warne out! Humbug!

smiler don't leave your day job! Does anybody on this site think outside the box? Last time we played Olosunde further forward at home it only lasted while half time. Home form might improve if we pick players in their proper positions. Only time I've been excited this season was Lamy 2nd H against Donny in the EFL cup. If I was him with his ability I'd run my years contract out then tell Warney were to stuff his contact extension offer. Hinds as well find a club that will play him.

You bang on about picking the team on merit, then pick your team based on age, that is anyone aged under 21, and the other requirement being that you have to have only seen them for a few minutes in a meaningless game. And the ridiculous fantasy about recalling a player from loan, that you have never seen kick a ball in anger, on the basis that he has scored a few goals in the sixth tier of the English football pyramid is, frankly laughable. Then again, you can see things that no-one else on the planet can. Do you see dead people?

TC I go on ability not age. Arnason played most of his games for us aged over 30. Quite rightly in the team of the decade in today's tizer. Wood he's been a good servant to the club but if we're looking to progress he's not part of it. Lamy you won't have seen him. He's not a lightweight. Not overweight but a powerful unit. One thing at his age he won't go for nothing.

Excellelent Whiston, But dont forget GlennMiller before Warney can be resurrected he has to be betrayed and then crucified first and theres a few on here who, if they had their own way are well down the road with that.........

Usual boring self congratulatory (if I haven't spelt that word right I will never hear the end of it) messages. The fact is we have only won 3 games in the league at home dreadful performances I hear plenty of mutterings in the crowd. Instead of the left over turkey whitterings deal with the fact it the most boring time in the life at the NYS. Worst thing he has moved near to where I sit I hope the next move is down the tunnel in the bottom corner.

I've just checked. We are fifth and only two teams in our league have scored more goals than us. You wouldn't believe it mind if this site was your only source of information. Perhaps THMiller your next move should be to a season ticket at Chesterfield, Orient or one of the other clubs we used to struggle to keep pace with a few years ago who now look at us with envy. Or MillersMad.

Where you there on a freezing cold Tuesday night chucking money in buckets I was. Season ticket bought next season never missed a home game at the don valley if you have done the same as me tell me. I am not going to be lectured if you have not. This season is the worst it has been in a long time the only word that works for me pathetic.

I see. You think that buying tickets for years makes you a good supporter. I suppose that is one definition of 'support' but it isnt the only one. It isnt mine. It doesn't give you any high ground and it certainly doesn't buy you the right to talk rubbish with immunity. You are proud to say you never boo the team, but you are happy to come on here and slag the manager and players off. That's an interesting distinction as well. Your money and time spent seems to have bought you a sense of entitlement. On reflection you might be better off joining the ranks of The Massive in S6. They are known for thinking the football world owes them a win every week. We are RUFC, are fifth in League One and have a young and developing side. It could be a lot worse. They just need your patience and continued support in the real sense of the word, instead of constant carping and criticism whenever it doesn't quite go to plan.

You pay your money you have the right to voice your opinions. Watching football is tribal if you are a true fan of your club. You don't have to go to away games to be a true fan. Home games: home team have been a non event this season. I sit in the SW stand half time under the stand there used to be a buzz. No more. We have got the basics of a good league 1 side. In home games I'd take game more to the opposition. But Warney plays the old pals act all the time. Me I'd have Lindsay Barlaser midfield 2, Lamy wide right Ogbene wide left. Smith or Morris with Ladapo up front. If Mattock can't play, Hinds his replacement. Play that I'll get a ticket for the Hull cup game. They have my money for the league games, be same next season. They'll have to justify me getting a ticket for the top cup competition we can play in. Paying near top price, not opening the stand were I have my season ticket.

Smiler you are correct they appear to have more fight away from home than at home, there is clearly a mental block for the players PW has indicated this in a few interviews. At home we do not demonstrate a lot of fight rarely in the last ten minutes have we looked like we are going to score. I. The home league we are below 20th so there is a problem. It is ironic that when we lose you come on here and slag people off for moaning yet when we win you are on here gloating. As for entitlement yes fans are entitled to express their opinion whether they buy a ticket or not, free speech has not been removed by the liberal left just yet. You are correct we have a young developing team all the fans want to see is some home performances and the management resolving the issues that we have about playing at home. There was a comment about us having a depleted team, not according to PW he clearly stated he was glad most of his players were back available for the shrews game.
