Find it unbelievable that PW made a huge deal of getting wingers in and he never plays them.
We’ve got a staff that are scared to death of losing football matches and only make reactive changes when we are losing anyway. It needs a change at the club it’s all too nice and no urgency to win football matches.
Fleetwood threw victory away yesterday. They were dominant in the first half and if they had continued with their tactics throughout the second, they would have won comfortably. However, they changed tactics, wasted time and sat back inviting Rotherham to come at them. Dreadful tactics and poor judgement by Barton. If Warne had made such a naive error, he would have been hung out to dry.
IMO - Fleetwood in the first half were the best League One side to visit NYS this season.
I think it is harsh to call for Warne's head after yesterday. On a day where we had four defenders out in Wood, Jones Ihiekwe and Robertson, two midfielders unavailable in Lindsay and MacDonald and Crooks playing with an injection in his groin and Vassell also struggling for full fitness. Add to this Thompson and Clarke who for me are fringe players in this league at this stage of their career with us. To get a point from a team who can go second if games in hand go their way was a fair effort.
Our first half performance was very poor. We struggled to send out simple passes and the movement was non existant. Wiles, who has been one our better players this season was having a game to forget, Clarke and Olosunde were constantly out of position and Barlaser and Thompson looked weak and were being out muscled by a strong Fleetwood team. We relied on the long high ball more than enough and Smith had little success in his battle with the two centre backs. The long high ball will never suit Ladapo.
Warne took off Clarke and introduced the game changer Ogbene. His pace put Fleetwood on the back foot and instead of playing the high press game they were going deeper to combat him and Olosunde, and on the left Mattock was getting forward and presenting a threat also. We got the equaliser and i fully expected us to win the game. We then got undone minutes later by hesitancy in defence and a goalkeeper who has been the star of the season failing to come and gaffer the situation. We got the equaliser with ten minutes to go and looked like the only team who could win it. I think a draw was a fair result, which at half time looked way beyond us.The lads rolled up their sleeves and had a go. Not much quality from us but the effort was there.
Not too many positives, but i also thought Crooks did ok in a foreign role, Mattock was decent throughout and obviously Ogbene was our star. Vassell was played in a number ten role in the first half behind Smith and Ladapo, but his contribution in that role appeared nill to me. I now think it is the time to cash in on him if Salford or any other club are interested. He has flattered too many times and i only see in rare flashes what he is all about. Similar to what Williams offered imo.
We have a tough period coming up. Shrewsbury up next who are arguably the in form team. They have beaten Coventry and Blackpool recently and drawn at Oxford. Before that they beat Peterborough and Sunderland at home. Only two teams have a better defence than them, but only Bolton and MK. Dons have scored less. A battling 1-0 would be some result. I think that can only be achieved if we have a near full squad which at the moment looks way off. Our squad is being stretched but as you saw yesterday we have some battlers and some game changers. Stick with us, be positive, booing helps nobody and i still think we will not be far off come May 2020.
Was a scratch side so a pt won. Hope regular cente backs return boxing day. Try to get to January transfer window in touch. What's wrong put right then sharpish. Is Warney the man to do it?
agree with that gwru... I can't see Warney going, we need a few more players in the squad, current injuries and bad defending show that

I don't get why he doesn't start with Ogbene as he looks like our only player who creates chances for our strikers as we have no creative talent in midfield and hoof ball doesn't work for Ladapo who needs it in front of him, not with back to goal.
Start with him and get in front rather than always when we are chasing the game...
Its seems to be the norm for RUFC. Choose whoever they bring in we always seem to struggle season after season with injuries. Sure players get injured it goes without saying, but these things need to be accounted for by having cover. With us though you can almost guarantee that the cover will also be out with something or other and its becoming the normal way that we manage the squad. It may be the training/coaching as some say. But I feel the problem is in recruitment; either someone isn't doing their homework on a player or the pedigree is known and they take a chance based on budget/wage demands.
I can't have Barton it's all about him. Warney I'll give him a chance to put it right. At our level all players we bring in won't work. Mcdonald Clarke hasn't. After yesterday I don't see Thompson as the commanding centre back we need. Iversen Lindsay Ladapo Ogbene they've added something. Olasunde not far off. Hastie & Lamy potential. Barlaser Morris ? both. Under contract Jones & Vassell don't see a future here. Some steel in midfield & a replacement for Wood priorities in January. I wouldn't be against bringing Kayode back in January, Yates possible if needed. Better the devil you know.
Things could be worse. Reports from the Keepmoat yesterday suggested that their only outlet and possibility of scoring was Jon Taylor. Now that's desperate!!
I heard today from someone who knows a bit about what happens at the club. By all accounts Warne if anything downplayed how ill some players were. Four or five played yesterday who would have been sent home sick if it had been a training session not a game and two played with injuries who would have been left out if we hadn't been so desperate. The ill players were very badly ill, not carrying little colds. I was frustrated yesterday at how bad we were, particularly in the first half, but in the cold light of day all things considered it might not be a bad point that in the end we just about deserved.

Ignore my remark about Mr Barton only jesting I agree yesterday we showed some bottle in the 2nd half they must have put some lem sips in the green tea at half time. It is a pity we haven't shown the same energy in some of our other home games. I know I am repeating myself but why do supporters boo the team we were pathetic 1st half also some did the same against Wiles take a look at yourselves are you real supporters. UTM

The booing is pathetic and doesn't help anyone except the opposition. We know there was a lot of illness and injuries however the record books tend to record the result not the state of health. Every home game where we have been awful and that is 80% of them there is an excuse by the end of December we will have played six league games since the very late win at MK and that is the usual measure of form. The issues at the club are obvious to a growing number of fans and it isn't injuries and illness.
