Totally agree with that mate, unless we are offered silly money (i.e. he has to be worth £2m+ or **** off)..

I hope Barlaser stays but in his case, not sure he'd want a perm move to us, despite he's obviously enjoying himself here, even if we could afford him, which we probably can't.

Signs don't look good for any more signings, I'm concerned if a) Baralser goes, but moreso b) we don't have enough cover at the back...

I agree with what you are saying lack of cover at the back I shall not knock the club if Newcastle take there player back what can we can do about it. The manager says earlier in the week interest in certain players then now is saying no more signings. What is happening some of you want to follow the teachings of chairman Warne a bit of truth would not go amiss. As a paying customer a few dribbles on Twitter only help to confuse the situation. It's a agents paradise.

The word he used was unlikely read into that what you may. Then again tomorrow is another day.

I've seen a report where he said that if he has the full squad available he is happy with it. That's not the same as 'no more signings'. In any case, he got slaughtered by a lot of supporters for saying too much about transfer plans when he was asked about Grant Ward. Damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

Why can't he just say we are working hard to bring players in his comments this week are confusing. Saying interest in some of our players then unlikely any new players coming in. The next 2 weeks might be interesting or are the wheels about to fall of the cart.

As I see it we need a defender and striker, as robertson is injured and if wood crops it , yes we have lindsey and thompson, but we need to replace morrris now he has sent kayode out on loan

I'm not sure we do need another defender. When they are all available we have Olosunde, Jones, Thompson, Wood, Ihiekwe, Robertson, Mattock, and potentially Clarke and (as we have now seen) Wiles to fill in at full back. That is a good number of good defenders, most of whom are quite versatile. Jones and Mattock are due back some time very soon. Thompson is available again after a further two games. By the time we got someone new in, it might just be Robertson out injured and he might be getting back towards fitness before too long.

I don't think that signing players in the January window for at least the rest of the season is the answer to solve very short term injury/suspension problems. Frankly I doubt that anyone would want to join us, either on loan or otherwise, if they thought they were only coming in as short term cover. Who would we get?

On a like for like basis, getting someone in to compensate for the loss of Morris looks the most obvious move for me, although Adelukan and Crooks can both play as central forwards.

The Window is a double edged sword. You can have a punt on improving the squad, but it is unsettling to think that loan players can be recalled or owned players unsettled by interest from others. It must be a nightmare for a manager because it is difficult to plan for.

The key is that anybody coming in needs to improve us. We don't just need random bodies as cover.

Do we really need anyone else? The squad is playing well and you don’t want to unbalance things especially as we’ve started to get our act together and the balance is the team is spot on.

Our forwards are all chipping in with goals, Crooks is from midfield. We possibly need a defender for cover at a push but that’s it.

We've got Smith only target man so need cover for him. I'd like a central defender getting in like Ajayi/Ihiewke good enough for the championship. Surely it's got to be Woods last season. I want us to go up looking something like a side equipped to stay out of the bottom 3 in the league up. I don't like playing players out of position but this leagues that bad we're getting away with it. I still don't think we really want to go up. I do then get shut of players like Crooks not good enough.

I’m not sure we’d get a centre half with the quality we need to replace Wood long term. Think that will have to wait for the summer.

When I said Crooks isn't good enough meant for the championship, can play in a league as bad as this but Lindsay he's a championship player. Crooks too slow for anywhere else than midfield, slow in thought also. Vaulks wasn't quick but got it in his head.

I think the key is "IF" they are all fit we don't need anyone ... but I still think we need another centre back and full back for cover if we are to make sure we can compete for the whole of the rest of the season.. I'd rather play safe with 2 x loan players for that reason.

Or if we have the dosh, go for a perm centre back for if we get promoted or for cover next season anyway.

Didn't think he was on our radar. Szmodics has played 1 game for Bristol City this season. He hasn't played a single game above League 2 level since end of 2015/16 season. Can't see why we would want him. Brissle don't think he will make a Championship player and, hopefully, that's where we will be next season.

Jamie Proctor joined AFC Fylde on loan.

Couldn’t play for another league club so signed for Fylde also closer to his home.

Fair play to Proctor. You hear about players who are happy to sit on contracts and take the money. He obviously wants to get out and play football. Hope he does well with them, starting on Saturday at Chesterfield.

Marshall he's signed for a non-league side. We dodged a bullet there.
