Rotherham United sign a striker.
Josh Kayode has signed a contract until 2022 great news for the club we have our striker. As far as I am concerned best news coming out of the club so far this week. Forget about loans with dodgy ankles yesterday's men he is one for the future. Get Cooper Lamy next plus that young Gratton who was on the bench before xmas. He comes from where I live I hope he has a good future in the game.
Warney said in the tizer a few weeks ago any signings in January would be oven ready in other words ready to play. Up to know we've got a winger who for some reason hasn't been near his parent clubs 1st team & are looking at a full back who hasn't played for god knows when. At least get a defender in with some scope to improve for cover. I welcome Kayode back. I don't think we're as healthy up front as Warney thinks. I don't see 3 we have now championship forwards, not 1st choice. I'm expecting a bodge up job in defence today or playing 3 at the back instead of Hinds being given his chance & Lamy lucky to be on the bench.
I agree with gwru where are these oven ready players looks to me as if they are waiting to be defrosted. We wanted a defender in I fear it will be a struggle at Oxford today. It will be a test

Woeful Wednesday Kayode kid has gone out on loan would have liked to have seen him in a millers shirt in 2nd half of the season anyway good luck at Carlisle. Jacob Gratton has signed until 2022 I hope he comes through. Barleser and Ogbene plus Vassell seem to be of interest from some clubs I hope we can hold onto them and it is only twitter chatter.
The interest in Barlaser seems to be hotting up Brentford and Charlton are interested. For a change we should be ahead of the curve try and sign him if not make sure we have plans to bring someone else in. It's no good faffing about as we usually do what is the point of having a head of recruitment we need to make sure we bring the right people in. I know I am repeating myself get the young players coming through we can't rely on loans all of the time.
Surely the time to worry is when players are not attracting the attention of other clubs. Dan Barlaser Is not our player so Newcastle will do what is best for them. If we are left with a midfield place to fill I am sure the management team have a solution in mind. January is a very disruptive time for all clubs. Again I have know influence on these matters therefore I do not worry about them.
Barlaser won't be here next season so he's going sooner or later. If he's going to go this window can go now give us time to get a suitable replacement in. Lindsay different type of player can step in. Regards younger players that's my problem with Warney. I can't work out why Hinds hasn't started a 1st team game yet. Mattock he's not had a good season. Why is Hinds still here if he isn't good enough. Same with Lamy he's lucky to get on the bench, I'm sure he's better than Clarke & Hastie. Keeping players happy is not my idea of running a football team.

Gwru, it's really simple. Hinds, Lamy and Kayode are not good enough/ready yet. The operative word is 'yet'. When they are their chance will come. The management team obviously think they have potential to get there. If in due course that changes, they may have to move on. Not a difficult concept.
smiler it's not about being good enough. In Kayode's case can see sending him out to league 2 like Yates being beneficial to both Roth U & the player. In Hinds & Lamy situation thinks it's more not upsetting the cosy setup Warney works in. Nobody's telling me we've had a left back this season who you can say he's shown he's an automatic choice there. Nobody's telling me Clarke or Hastie have more to offer than Lamy or this new winger I've got to see yet. I don't like to see players who've got every chance of being of a good standard for us being kept out by players who've failed. In Mattocks case wouldn't say totally failed but this season?.
