Yes Warnes view on what he needs is very worrying. If he cannot see we need someone to control the midfield and spread the ball wide to the wingers then God help us. We have plenty of wingers he has never played the ones we have had hence why 4 of them turned down contracts in the summer, whether they were good enough doesn't matter the fact is they were offered contracts and they chose not to play for Warne. He doesn't give players a run in the team and we are a long ball team, other teams like Rochdale play a lot more football than we do. At the end of the day it doesn't matter if we had amazing players because the coaching at the club is well below standard, they really could turn gold into lead.

I agree with most of that Smiler. Kyle Vassel has shown flashes as you say. I think what worries Warne about moving him on is how good at times he looks in training and how powerful an athlete he is. It could be he goes somewhere and fulfills his potential. A bit like JCH has finally done at Bristol Rovers. His old injury problems have kept JCH out in the last couple of months, apart from a couple of games. He missed six games with a calf injury and has missed the last couple with a dead leg. It might not stop the pigs signing him in January for around half a million though.

I doubt Barlaser is going anywhere unless we decide to invest in a couple of midfielders. Warne has said he would like another wide man and somebody who could play in the hole. I don't expect a lot coming or going. I will put another shout out for Callum Camp of Rochdale as the player who could get us in the top six at least at the end of the season.

Id let Wood, Mattock, MacDonald and Smith go for what ever we can get for them. Start using the wide players and other signings for the roles they were brought in for and start feeding Ladapo in the role he plays best, balls to his feet in the box

Gaz problem we have players you've mentioned are all under contract in Wood's case till end of this current season. Can you see anyone wanting to sign Wood or McDonald? Mattock or Smith don't seem same players this season, they were two I said at the time last season of our stopping up players but playing above themselves putting it all in looks like it's took it's toll. We haven't got another player like Smith. Morris he's not a target man. Ladapo he's a goal poacher not a player you look to win headers.

gwru,

Not been funny but if all RUFC want is effort then play me for 1/4 of our lowest paid player per week, ill give 500% and run till me legs fall off.

No i dont think anyone would pay for any of the players i mentioned so why are we still looking at them being the mainstay of our team ?

I dont think we need another player like Smith, he was a poor replacement for a poor (at the league we were in) player in Revell (stands by for big S!*t) BTW I voted for Alex as the best goal ever scored at the old Wembly. Once we made the Championship we needed to drop the big boot and start to be a grown up footballing club. Your correct Morris is not a target man, we dont need a target man with the quality we have we just need to play a style of football that suits the considerably high quality of player we have for this division.

We have the squad to take this division to the cleaners, just need to learn how to use them to our advantage and soon before we miss the boat to the champioship.

Yesterday again showed, in my opinion, we need 2 x full back cover and at least 1 centre back cover, plus a CREATIVE (not holding) midfielder... nowt else needed in my opnion, excpet always start with Ogbene as he's our only outlet that creates chances for Ladapo and others...

We need to start having clean sheets or we're not going up.. defenders needed...

Hasn't the directorate/management said we will not be paying fees for anyone ? Just loans and free transfers (or cruciate ligament victims eg Grant Ward). Very ambitious.

We've been a centre back & Vaulks type midfielder short all season. Mcdonald was a shocking signing, total waste of money. We've fell unlucky with Lyndsay who was our best midfielder this season but that can't be helped. I know I'm repeating myself but I want to see Lamy in the side. He's got it.

From MM Warnock is busy playing golf with TS... Wouldn't cost a fortune to get shut of our management team they are on a rolling contract.

Tony has Probably asking Warnocks opinions on our team. To me it's apparent Warne is learning on the job but he want help from Warnock and Blackwell. To some it may look as a failure on his part. Tony replacing Warne is highly unlikely as a new manager of Blackwell status would want a significant transfer budget. To build promotion and championship team

Grant Ward signs for Blackpool instead of us, can't say I'm upset by that.

I hope Warney sees what we see, that we need defenders before owt else....

Never wanted Grant Ward back same as Smallwood they went for higher wages than we could offer. Surely not lost on TS. Defender, holding midfielder & forward priority's. Vassell sell. Loan Clarke out.

We don't want players in just to sit on the bench. Any actual signings given a contract by us it's got with a view of being good enough for the championship.

Did we really need another offensive midfielder/attacker anyway?

Much rather us focus on getting some defensive options in with Robertson needing surgery, Jones still injured and also Thompson and Mattock banned.

Potentially we have a back four of Olosunde, Ihiekwe, Wood and Clarke for Saturday which arguably features three of our first choice back four. Mattock is back after this week and Thompson after two further games. Jones I think is said to be three or four weeks away.

I appreciate that we are thin on the ground defensively in the short term but generally speaking I would be a bit wary about getting a new defender in on a half-season loan just to fill a gap as cover for two or three weeks. For a start, it takes players two or three weeks to get settled in, particularly in defensive positions.

If we are going to get a defender in I would prefer that it is a permanent signing who we are happy to have on board longer term.
