On topic, I think most people me included would have Lindsay in midfield if everybody is fit and available. Him and Wiles are the best central pairing. I agree with others who have said that Barlaser has been a major disappointment so far. He can obviously play a bit but struggles to impose himself on games. If everybody was fit and available then my best eleven would be: Iversen: Jones, Ihiekwe, Robertson, Mattock: Ogbene, Wiles, Lindsay, Hastie: Morris, Ladapo. Having said that, for me players like Wood, Clarke, Crooks, Olosunde, Vassell, Smith and McDonald are good players and there are a number of positions where it is too close to really call. Crooks is a great option as an attacking midfielder if Warne wants to play one up front and in my opinion is ahead of Barlaser as a central midfielder too. The good news is we have lots of options and good quality cover in most positions.
Oh are those two (or possibly one) blithering idiots still spewing their anti Warne bile all over this forum? I'm not getting angry anymore, rather let them show themselves up for the blinkered idiotic ***** that they are.
Get to January after the cup game send back whose not cut the mustard definitely Barlaser & Hastie. Holding midfielder definitely needed, Lindsay would be even more effective further forward. A replacement for Wood who can't go on forever would be another addition. Even I can see Warney: whose out there to replace him. Names aren't throwing themselves at you. All he's got to do to convince me it's to cut out the old pals act & pick a side on merit. As I keep saying like to see Hinds & Lamy more involved. For this level we have some decent players. Strengthen a little can see us well up there.
