I'd have to understand your mind gwru to try and change it. I'm not interested in going there. But it's right that somebody calls out your constant nonsense for what it is. I'm not the only one who does it, but if you find me irritating I must be doing something right.
And your qualifications to present yourself as a tactical genius consist of "go to home games, mean all" and "weren't much good at football"
Isn't it logical that people with vast experience from the professional game would know thousands of times more than you do?
All this 3-5-2, 4-1-3-2 carp that you constantly trot out day after day is a load of bollards.
Football revolves around flair and skill not "formations" and "how we set up". It's not governed by an algorithm or spreadsheet.
TC I'm trying to keep the game simple. It's not me who wants 3-5-2. You can only play to players you have in your squad. I said before last night to play Lindsay Wiles Clarke in midfield. It worked last night but I'm looking at Saturdays home game. I'd like a recognised winger on the right.

Gwru - you said play those three as a three in the centre of midfield. You keep talking as if that is what we did. That isn't what we did. We played four across midfield with Clarke on the left.
Incidentally, what sort of person constantly gives opinions ending 'tell me different', starts a thread with a post that ends 'tell me if I'm wrong', gets it all spectacularly wrong and then says with 'you'lll never change my mind'? Seriously. What sort of person?
TH is right lighten up. I've got to smiler he's getting personal. These tactical geniuses on here were was Macdonald Wednesday! I said before the Ipswich game play Clarke cause he's left sided to play a right wide man. For an away game it probably worked playing Olosunde there don't know if it will at home but this league you seem to able to get away with it. Question if we really needed to win would you have two right backs in the side chosen? me only if you had no right winger available. We have two but not sure if Ogbene he's happier playing on the left. Lamy he's got it if he gets the chance. Football keep it simple that's how it was meant to be played.
I notice you didn't answer the serious question in my previous post gwru. Don't be shy. I'm always interested to know what you think. Over to you. The answer is staring you in the face.
What sort of person starts a thread with 'see if I'm proved right', is proved completely wrong and then says 'I'll never change my mind'?

You make some good points Gwru and appear to be able to dismiss players after seeing them play a few home games and on edited highlights. I am not able to do that. You wanted Lamy on the wide right and Ogbene on the wide left with Wiles, Lindsay and Clarke playing the central roles at Ipswich. It is my belief that Mattock had a good game because in front of him he had a left sided player who knew how to defend thus allowing him to get forward more and being able to trust Clarke to help defensively. On the other side, Jones is steady and helped Olosunde get forward and was constantly advising Olosunde where to be on the pitch.
I am very disappointed in Barlaser and also believe MacDonald lacks a yard of pace. Warne put a lot of faith in the two young lads Wiles and Lindsay in the middle of the park and they performed manfully. They will not be able to do that all season. Imo Clarke will struggle to play central holding midfield ( he was left wide at Ipswich) so i think Barlaser might still be the best option. However, he has been poor so far and imo MacDonald looked the best option for Ipswich. I was clearly wrong and either he has an injury or the management team do not think he is up to it. Warne has constantly said Lamy is a work in progress and his time to start is not yet. Let him come on in cameo roles and develop. Ipswich was not the game to start him in. Btw these are my opinions and i am certainly no tactical genius, my only sporting qualification is a cricket coaching level one badge and player managing local pub teams at football.
